The owner was very friendly and very helpful, however it can unfortunately not make up for the state of the accommodation.

I love simple accommodations, but this place should've been half the price, i. e. twenty dollars. We stayed at some very nice hotels for the same price we paid, and the view, which is admittedly amazing for birdwatching, cannot make up for this. The bathroom was not clean, no hot water, no working sockets.

The hosts are wonderful - they did everything to make my stay comfortable. Chamin is very knowledgable about birds and animals, so he is an excellent safari guide. I loved the cottage and the view from my terrace. The family cooked delicious vegetarian meals for me at good price. And I loved their cute heroic cats who protect the garden from dangerous snakes😃

actually nothing, just better to know some things in advance: - there is no hot water but the tap water is warm enough and ok for shower -there are some insects in the cottage, but i think that's unavoidable in this area - no toiletries like sope, shampoo etc

Perfect view of the Bundala national park, from your own balcony! The owners are super friendly and go out of their way to make sure you have a great time. The food they prepare is delicious and beats many restaurants easily! Very relaxing and quiet environment, and the owner is a very knowledgeable park guide + nature photographer who will happily take you to the park and explain the wildlife you will encounter and migratory patterns of the 197 bird species that this beautiful peaceful nature park has to offer.

Could be a little cleaner, it wasn’t bad just some insect / gekko excrements here and there.

We loved our stay The view from the top cottage was amazing and we were lucky enough to see otter in the evening! Chamin, the owner, took us out in the evening to go looking for fishing cat. We saw one and were ecstatic!! We loved it and wished we’d stayed a second night His wife also cooked us all meals and they were fantastic too!

Super friendly owner. She takes care of everything(arranged transport there and away with her, safari and she is also a Great Chef) We arranged a wonderful safari to bundala national park with her. We saw many birds, crocodiles, tortoise, elephants. The driver and guide was very nice. The family room is spacious and clean. Beds are very comfortable. Thanks a lot! And kind regards to everyone in the team ( all very friendly) and her lovely sons. My girls are enjoined playing with the 6 year old and loved the baby!

The lake was beautiful and the on-staff guide was great and accommodating.

We arrived at the "cottage" and no one was there to greet us. from the back, the cottage looks more like a water tower. We never saw the host only the guide who ended up giving us tours, picking up our dinner from a local take out and pretty much doing everything. Our room was on the second floor and the staircase was a repurposed emergency staircase which was dangerous. The bed didn't have a top sheet - only the flat fitted sheet, we had no drinking water or glasses, the "bidet" was a hose. our breakfast was pre-cooked and was terrible. When we went to leave, the host was no where to be found, we hadn't been told that we couldn't pay with a credit card, we paid in USD and they charged us a conversion fee. We had booked to stay for two nights but only stayed for one. The only good thing I can say besides how great the guide was is that the host didn't charge us for cancelling the second night.

A nice room with an absolutely beautiful view from the balcony. It’s lovely to sit there and watch the wildlife. We had a trip, from the house, around Bundala National Park with its amazing bird life. The guide was brilliant. Thank you. Not to forget the delicious fresh fish we had for our evening meal!
