Villa Atulya at Ocean's edge

What a stunning place. The accommodation was 1st class and the view of the ocean fabulous. Loved the colonial style furniture and decor was very tastefully done. The food was very tasty. Isham and his team looked after us so well always with a smile. Special place.

Could have provided more sun loungers and umbrellas for shade. Also board games which would have been appreciated as the weather turned and it poured with rain for most of our stay.

The location is peaceful. The property is nice with a rustic feel. Large rooms with a good view , a nice common balcony. The pool was clean. Staff was accommodating but there was a language barrier and requests were not fully understood. The beach is rocky, good for a stroll, can't swim.

Limited breakfast and exorbitantly priced menu.

Bed and pillows were comfortable. Bathroom big. Location was good, the beach had a little lagoon which was perfect for my kids. Cot provided was comfortable.

I had lunch and dinner at the property and food were really expensive compared to other hotels I stayed in Sri Lanka. A plate in other hotels were around $1200 and there was almost $3000. For dinner in the menu said chicken drumsticks and it was a shape of drumsticks and did not taste like chicken at all. Breakfast was ok. Each time we ordered a meal they send a bottle of water without me asking, ( I thought it was complementary) I found out at the end on my bill. You can’t add things on the order that people did not ask for it and charge without letting them know.

This place is perfect, loved everything about the property.

Nice old style house with interesting antique furniture and modern art on the walls. Nice pool and pleasant garden

The staff were very discreet, sometimes too discreet, however if you needed someone you could press the service bell and a member of staff would appear. The breakfast was Ok , nothing special and the food could sit uncleared on the table for many hours . We stayed three nights and despite the leaflet in our room which said that room would be serviced on day two this never happened

Rooms were amazing

Somebody was playing high volume music at midnight and staff didn’t intervene

Amazing place close to the beach and the place is made of traditional furniture and materials. The food was also very good

Room service is a little bit slow, you need to order everything a long time in advance.
