Cambridge Belfry Hotel & Spa

The location was perfect for the event I was attending. The layout of the hotel was nice and bedrooms were quiet.

The pool area wasn’t great. The steam room looked very grubby with black mould on the floor. There was a sign saying the floor would need to be replaced but I didn’t feel it should have been in use in its current state. The showers in the ladies changing room were cold and in general the facilities need to be refurbished.

Friendly staff on arrival and around the hotel. Very clean. I enjoyed my meal Moules mariere thankyou. Also loved the fact you could use the gym and pool but thought it would be much bigger from pictures. Lovely location, and enjoyed walking outside onto the jetty and seeing the fish and surrounding lake.

Friendly staff but room was incredibly stuffy where windows are obviously closed all day before guests arrive and you cannot open them fully. We did not sleep well due to no air con and I would not have minded if we could of opened the window fully. My son had a GCSE exam the following morning so not ideal as we travelled to this location to be closer and have a good rest and nights sleep. Also unforntunately my sons pizza was undercooked which we pointed out to the manager of kitchen, who clarified yes it looks underdone a bit but offered no replacement option or refund. Pool was very limited in space with parents sitting around waiting for their children, clearly they are meant to be outside pool area so not a lot of space as also due to swimming lessons taking place in pool, not idea if people are paying a considerable amount of money to come and stay with use of pool/jaccuzi. (Maybe an idea to separate times out for guests)

Nice hotel some staff excellent. The in the restaurant she was brilliant.

On checking day one staff member on the desk. Having been woken by a fire alarm 17 times having to leave the room at 5am Not being told by a member off staff what was going on. We found out it was a faulty detector. Not being able to book a table for dinner on our last evening because they were short off staff.. When we asked for some form of compensation having booked for two days. We were offered a complimentary drink. Very disappointed. What a shame lovely hotel but will not be visiting again.

Spa and gym were brilliant. Spa is very relaxing, nice swimming pool. Very relaxing. Dinner was great in the evening. Breakfast was also great with lots ot chose from.

No air conditioning in the rooms. We stayed on one of the hottest nights and just thought a hotel to this level would of had air conditioning. We didnt sleep well at all, bedroom window couldn't be opened past about an inch.
