Very immersive experience with the lovely local community.. Juan and Maria were very kind and propose to us a lot of activities to do.

it's a little bit far from the playa

A relaxing and quiet location, close to beaches, small shops and cafés. The staff were very friendly and organised excursions for us and cooked delicious, well-priced food.

The bathroom was not entirely walled off from the bedroom.

Very helpful and friendly staff, even with a language barrier. Happy to organise activities on the island for us and make sure that we got to the boat for the return journey.

The only free, accessible beach (not owned by a private resort) is a 20 min walk away, so don't expect beachside. The electricity would periodically cut off during the day. No mosquito guards on the windows of our accomm. meant there were quite a few in the room.

Lovely room, helpful staff. Peaceful, pretty setting. Not immediately by a beach, but the island is small so it's easy to walk anywhere.

Set on the edge of a rustic local village on Isla Grande this charming guest house feels like an authentic way to experience the island. The folk who run it are super helpful and laidback - the place has a lot of charm, delightful dogs and a now famous talkative parrot. Breakfast, lunch and dinner available. The nearest little beach is a 3 minute walk - it’s brilliant - so brilliant that both Pablo Escobar and the President chose to build homes on it or opposite it!!! Getting there is simple book a ticket only boat shuttle from Cartagena - advise the hotel of your timings and someone will meet you off the boat - 5 min walk to the hotel. Be advised to take cash - they don’t take cards - no Wi-Fi but phone reception - a great base to explore the island away from lively expensive resorts. Highly recommended.

Staff, very helpful and can offer a variety of custom tours to cater for your group needs (reasonably priced too). Room was clean and overall the property is very well maintained. Two fans were nice as well.

The location is a bit away from any beach compared to other properties but this is made up for by the staff.

Las Flores exceeded all of our expectations and we had a great stay here. From reading the reviews before, we expected really basic accommodation, however when staying in the Bungalow we were very impressed! The room was really clean and we had warm water, which was a nice surprise! The bungalow was just lovely with hammocks out front too. The hosts are so friendly and accommodating for slow Spanish! They also took us on cheap tours for snorkelling and plankton which were amazing. Would definitely recommend for a more authentic stay in Isla Grande

Only comments would be that the kitchen staff could seem a little moody and the food took a while to come out (but we weren’t in a rush!). Also just to note that the community can be a bit noisy, with loud music playing in the evening and morning, although not a night time!

The hotel grounds are lovely and the family and caretakers were always ready to help us with any needs. The food was good, and the parrot was a fun companion! We decided to stay 2 extra nights and were upgraded into a lovely room (Casa Grande) with hammocks on the terrace. The location is a short walk from several beaches (Playita, Playa LIbre, Playa Tranquila), but be prepared for a hot and dusty walk home.

The first room we were assigned was very basic and not especially clean when we arrived, but Casa Grande was much nicer. The rooms seem to vary in their quality.
