Kingfisher Lodge with Hot Tub

Location was great-50 mins away from Robin Hood Bay and 45 into Scarborough. Great Chinese restaurant just 5 mins away which does do takeaway. The hot tub was clean and very relaxing. We loved sitting on the terrace for morning coffee and listening to the owls at night time. Spacious lodge, well equipped kitchen, range of DVDs to watch and really homey. The owners of the lodge have really looked after and presented it well. Easy check-in with the keys being inside the key box.

The information sent through email didn’t match the printed information in the folder inside the lodge- including Wi-Fi password. The passive-aggressive information left in the folder inside the lodge was not needed, particularly the quote ‘The cleaners do not get paid overtime!!!’ In capital letters. I had an email almost everyday for a week about paying the safety deposit despite having paid it and still got the same email whilst we were staying there. The cleanliness of the lodge- the coffee stable was sticky with drink marks (we wiped it as soon as we arrived and the wipe was brown) and the dining room table was the same.

The space inside the lodge was good. The hot tub was nice and the site was reasonably quiet. It was close to Flamingo Land and other local attractions so a good base for getting around. You do need a car though.

The electricity tripped while we were there and we struggled to find the fuse box as it was hiding behind some chairs inside a cupboard and not easy to spot. Though the guy answered the emergency number we had straight away and helped over the phone. I am also still waiting for the damage deposit to be returned a month after we checked out and they are not responding to my messages!

Lodge was of a very high standard was very comfortable

A bit isolated have to drive to nearest amenities If your looking to get away and just relax for a few days it's perfect. For me I like to be able to walk to restaurants, etc, RATHER than drive.

Hot tub was dirty Water and actual hot tub. I think someone with false tan had been in it.

Nice little park.

Cleanliness was shocking. Stains. Things broke. Blood of bedding. Sick on radiator. Cheerios under settee. Looked like it had been cleaned quickly. Hot tub wasn’t clean. Rang for staff. Was useless. Was still drunk from night before. Wasn’t quiet. Other lodges shouting. No smoke alarm which is illegal.
