Ratna Villa

We had a big problem with the accomodation. The fridge is old and semi functional. The door does not seal properly, and as a result, the entire freezer section was frozen over with solid ice..there was no ice in the ice tray...so we tried to extract a piece of frozen ice to put in our warm drinks...this caused a small hole in the side of the freezer.. the freezer is old and has been patched twice before...see photos attached...the hole can easily be mended as has been done before...now the owner (Ratna) expects us to buy a new fridge for 6 mill rupiah ...even though the exact fridge new costs R1.6 new...the fridge is old and leaking.. as a gesture of good will I paid R500,000 to mend the fridge.. its a simple fix of plugging the hole and re-gassing the fridge...probably R300k..not even R500k..I would seriously advise people to avoid this place...by being honest and admiting to our mistake they take advantage and expect a brand new fridge....rediculous... The taps in the bathrooms are loose..They claim to have barbecue facilities...non existant.. They claim to have a sofa bed...nonexistant, just a small couch... You cant get there by car...its a hazardous ride on old motorbikes in the middle of nowhere... DONT GO THERE...YOU WILL END UP PAYING EXTRA FOR NOTHING !!

Quiet location, great pool & garden . Ratna and staff went out of their way to attend to our every request - even delivering bakery fresh bread one morning !

We stayed in the superior villa and it was spacious, comfortable and clean. We loved the location but guest should be aware that it is about a 10 minute walk from the road (an easy and enjoyable walk). Ubud is so busy and being set far back down a car-free road made the experience of staying at the villa very peacful and the surroundings are beautiful. There is lots nearby in walking distance and we only went into central ubud a couple of times. We were also provided with a free scooter to help ferry us to and from the road, which helped preserve the stamina of our kids. We stayed with our two kids (9 and 5) who were happy to share one of the large beds. Pool safety may be tricky with younger children so is something to be aware of. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. One of our kids left her teddy at the villa, and Ratna was very helpful in organising teddy's personal scooter ride to reunite with us in Nusa Dua.

The kitchen isn't super well equipped but we didn't really use it anyway There was some contruction happening next door which was a bit noisy at times and impeded on our privacy a bit when workers were on the roof next door- this won't be an ongoing issue I'm sure.

The pool & the place was great & they did a happy birthday sign in flower petals for me :)

A tiny carton of milk & a few teabags & sugar would be good, as arrived late & would've loved a cuppa.

We just loved it! Prix value was correct! Bed confortable and air con worked well. Employees at the villa lovely!

We stayed in Pondok Ratna, and loved everything about it. The open bathroom was not a problem at all, we had no insect or spider encounters. We loved the pool, the kitchen, the rooms themselves. We had daily cleaning. I will gladly return anytime.

The road to the property is a bit tricky and only accessible by motor. The pool makes blonde hair green but that is normal in Ubud so just don’t put your head in the water.

We are glad we stayed here. The room and the pool were splendid. The location is in the middle of rice fields, a bit far from the main road, but the staff took care of the transport everytime we needed it.

Spacious rooms and toilet.

Kettle was unusable. Rooms were smelly. Iron was not provided. There was no one at the reception or other words, there was no reception at all. Resort to central parking is a bit far and always need to walk. No motor bike or other transport arranged.
