Star Light Cabanas & Restaurant

After visiting Colombo, Kandy, and Galle, we headed down to the ocean in the south, and the place where we stayed the longest was this one. We stayed eight nights and were sad to leave because the accommodation was absolutely phenomenal! 🤩 It was set in nature, exotic yet safe, and equipped with all necessary amenities, including air conditioning and always warm water. We even had our own place in front of the cottage where we relaxed every day, drinking tea and enjoying delicious pancakes. As for the hosts, they were the kindest people we could have encountered! 💙 Since there was a family restaurant, this wonderful woman prepared a new specialty for us every day, and each one seemed even better than the last. We never received such large and high-quality portions during our stay in Sri Lanka. All in all, for those who want to experience the charms of nature and the true spirit of Sri Lanka, to relax their body and soul, and recharge with positive energy, I highly recommend this accommodation. I hope we can return next year! 🏝️🌍

This is in a good part of Tangalle, near some nice restaurants and the beach where the turtles hatch. Staff were super kind and provided us with some awesome breakfasts. There were lots of frogs in the bathroom, I liked it, but it might not be everyone's vibe.

Wonderful place to stay. Very hospitable family. Rooms are basic but very clean. Food is delicious and they cater for all. You do need to have a scooter or something as it’s far from the nearest shops. But they will take you, for a small fee, which is very helpful. Great place to see turtles laying eggs and hatchlings being released.

Chananda and his lovely family made us feel so welcome. The cabanas are clean, a good size and have everything you need including a choice of hot and cold showers. You must eat in the restaurant. The food is exceptional, generous portions and very well priced. The gardens are beautiful and filled with trees, plants and flowers. We rented a moped at a very good price and it was in very good condition. One of his sons has a car business and he can drive you anywhere😃 I highly recommend Star Light Cabanas😍

Lovely accommodation, really nice room and lovely people who helped with everything I needed. The food was really tasty too!

The location was a bit cut off from the main strip of restaurants and bars... But if you want peace and quiet, then it's a great spot!

Bedroom amazing, best food i had in sri lanka.

I actually left for two nights but decided to come back. It is the best accommodation I had during my stay in Sri Lanka: close to nature outside but clean and in great shape inside, the hammock in front of each cabana is the place I spent most of my time, the food is amazing!!! And I even took a cooking class with the best, most friendliest host family. If I came back to Sri Lanka, definitely a place I would come back to!
