The 1964 Holiday bungalow

Beautifully calm, situated a 15 min drive from the main Ella town, which was perfect. Lovely views from the sweet garden, with hammocks to read. The food was amazing and prepared totally fresh. We were welcomed with such warmth and very well looked after! The team are wonderful, we will miss them.

The wifi wasn’t great, but that didn’t matter too much for us.

Beautiful surroundings. Quite far from the center of Ella so you will have to take that into account. Friendly and accommodating staff

The food we ordered was not good unfortunately

The position is perfect to be far for the Ella's crowd. The common space is peaceful and relax. The meal is the best I have ever eaten in Sri Lanka. The host is very lovely and careful. A very great stay.

There was no soap in the bathroom.

This place is like an oasis of peace and quiet from the noisy and crowded place that is Ella. The bungalow is located on the mountainside with a beautiful view. The terrace with a hammock was my favorite place where I could observe nature while drinking a cup of warm tea. The rooms are clean, the water in the bathroom is hot. The only downside is that you can hear a little bit of the person from the next room. The staff is great, thank you very much for these evening conversations

Location! Quiet and beautiful with a garden that has an amazing view of the mountains surrounding Ella. We loved being around the tea fields far from the busy town

It hurts me to say as the staff was lovely - the food was really not up to Sri Lankan standards… being in a secluded place not wanting to travel for dinner, this was really disappointing (twice..) Also - the rooms surround the hotel lobby and the doors are paper thin. Was hard to get a sense of privacy

This hotel turned out to be far from the city center, essentially in the middle of nowhere. Unfortunately, the remote location made it impractical for us to stay, so we decided to book another hotel instead. If proximity to the city is important to you, this may not be the best choice.
