Kasuari Valley Beach Resort

The staff at the resort is friendly and helpful, although only the receptionist speaks English. This made the Google Translate app quite useful during our stay. The English-speaking receptionist arranged a car for us to explore the town, which was a great convenience. Overall, the food was enjoyable.

The resort boasts beautiful garden and a nice view of the ocean, but it appears somewhat neglected. With proper maintenance, it could truly shine. For example, the pool has a green hue, which likely indicates an algae problem. The food menu offers a wide variety of selections; however, when I ordered squid, I was disappointed to find it was sold out. Additionally, the resort employs an unusual accounting practice, requiring guests to settle their bills at the end of each day instead of consolidating payments at the end of the stay.

The hotel itself is in pretty gardens but is weathered and could do with some repairs. The individual lodge rooms were very lovely and are in good condition and very clean with air con and lovely bathroom towels, tv and coffee making facilities.

The food I had was not nice. It was supposed to be a hamburger but wat came out seemed to be spam with far too much dressing and had cucumber. It was not tasty and ended up being sloppy mess plus there were no fries or side salad and the menu didn’t explain. On arrival after I’d booked I was told there was no hot water. Although I informed them I was doing an early checkout before I arrived I was only told that the restaurant only opens from 8am to 8pm after arrival, as it’s so far out of town I had no options for food. Also after I had got ready for bed they turned up and requested payment for dinner rather than to put this on my bill for checkout. But the biggest issue was not one single member of staff spoke any English so trying to rectify this was impossible. Was never provided with the WiFi key. All in all made for a poor experience which could have been so much better bearing in mind the rooms and surrounding grounds were so nice…. Would stay at a better class hotel in town on my next trip.

The food was great, rooms were clean and beds were comfy. Staff were extremly helpful. The sunset view was amazing and the location was good, not far out of town. It was easy to organise transport through reception. We decided the location and view, excellent staff and great food, made it easy to overlook the problems.

The gardens need to be improved as they werent particularly nice. Very sparce and unkempt which made the resort look shabby. The boardwalk paths were rotting and dangerous to walk on, also slippery when wet. The pool was warm and could have been cleaner but it was swimable. The cold showers werent great but we got used to them. If the owners did some maintenance it would be a great resort.

Give it a miss.. The pictures are a lie and nothing like reality. Glad I stayed only one night. So sad to see this place in such dire need of repair. It has so much potential as the location and sunset view is amazing, however my guess is that the owner is running this place into the ground and not spending a cracker on maintenance. The neglect is at point where it feels dirty, neglected and unsafe. I understand it’s in a tropical climate, however there are far better places in the area for less than we paid. The board walks that connect rooms are falling apart and are dangerous, the pool looks like it hasn’t be cleaned in a while with pumps and filters look to be turned off, and the deck area is roped off in sections, most likely to stop patrons falling to their death. The beach access is closed with tin blocking the broken stairs. The rooms do not have any hot water and no insect nets were provided with bonus Cobwebs and mold in the bathroom. The bar is very limited and breakfast is from 8:30, so I hope you are not an early riser. The staff require you to settle the bill during the evening and they’ll come knocking…most likely as the guests run away in disappointment. The food is ok, and the service staff are doing their best under the circumstances, but the property looks understaffed and staff are overworked or don’t care.

There is no hot water and the pool was too dirty to swim in. The wooden boardwalk between rooms is broken and dangerous. Breakfast was meant to be included but at 8am we could find no staff at all at the resort. We left our room keys on the front desk and left…..
