Kitelantis Hotel and Resort

Friendly & accommodating staff Lakshan made our stay very comfortable with his genuine concern and hospitality. The chefs were very accommodating as well. A beautiful and tranquil location. The Sri Lankan breakfast options & the grilled Barramundi were tasty.

We booked a Deluxe Double room with Lagoon view. However, upon our arrival, we were given another room which the Manager Eranga claimed was an "upgrade". He insisted this other room was better & afforded privacy that the original room did not have. He also attempted to deter us from the Deluxe room stating that there were children in the next unit, which he assumed would be a disturbance. However, we insisted on the Deluxe room which we finally got, and the unit next to us was unoccupied during our stay despite him stating that there was a family with children occupying the same. We also did not appreciate the manner in which he behaved during our check-out. We were given a late check out (1pm) when we booked our stay. However, he messaged us stating that check out was at 12 noon & also called us 30 mins later. He had to be reminded that he had agreed two days earlier to a late checkout. Upon being reminded of the same he quickly changed the topic of conversation and did not even attempt to apologize. He also asked intrusive personal questions which made us feel uncomfortable.

Holiday | Family Nice place with overlooking lagoon. One of the best places arund kalpitiya to have a relaxing getaway . You can do kayaking , kite surfing , and many more. Can go to nearby islands by boat. You can visit wilpattu from lagoon side entrance via a boat.

The staff at this hotel were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. 😇 Great for a family. Kitelantis is a beautiful and charming place.😍 They have a boat dock with an amazing view. Room were spotless 👌

Meal options were limited. It's nice to get an electric kettle for a room to make a hot drink. 😉

The resort is beautiful and surrounded by nature. Lakshan and the other staff did everything to make us thrive, and the food was better than anywhere nearby

We liked the remoteness, solitude and the feeling of living in nature, but some may feel the inaccessability and difficulturies of finding tuk tuk that could drive us to from the diving center etc

What a lovely surprise. We wanted to check out the Kalpitiya peninsula but are not kite surfers so were a bit hesitant booking at Kitelantis. Let me say, have no hesitation this is an amazing place to stay. Jessie is a natural host, who's own story is fascinating and inspiring. We talked for a long time but could have gone for hours. He is dedicated to making the place successful not just for his guests but for his staff and the community. We extended our stay and loved every second. A kayak on the lagoon at sunset, a drink on the private jetty, a swim up bar, or a kite surf or safari, this place ticks a lot of boxes. Great rooms, the outdoor private bathrooms are next level. We will recommend to friends and will be back. Can't wait to see what Jessie and the team achieve in the years to come. An inspirational Sri Lankan success story.

Having to leave 😕

The staff was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Thanks to all of you, especially Jesse, Luwis, Dulanka. The cottages are spacious, clean and the outdoor bathrooms are great. In short: A perfect place to be and to relax.
