Historic McDonald Airbnb

It is a nice property. It is a really nice historic house. The room and bathroom we stayed in should not have been “ready for quests”.

The bathroom was dirty. There were no window coverings. Cobwebs on ceiling in bedroom.

This property is not disability accessible, poor lighting - pitch black at night in parking area and access to house, Multiple stairs to get into property and inside facility- no elevator, Bathroom was dirty with used bars of soap lying around. tv did not work. Keyless access to facility and room very difficult to use. Noisy at night until 11 Pm- loud TV and people talking. Awaken at 5:30 AM to smell of burnt toast and TV blaring outside my room. Cost of stay was $90 more tan quoted. This is not A B&B - no breakfast available.

Absolutely loved it! The energy and ambiance was exactly what we needed. I hope while they continue restoring this home, that they keep some of the exposed brick. We will definitely be going back.

They were trying to force me to pay for my stay over the phone to a stranger two days prior to the check-in. There was no staff in the location, someone opened the door without knowing what was happening. I got blamed by the hostess (whom I'd never met) for arriving late at night. From the entrance, I could already smell the strong scent of mold. I don't think this place should be listed on Booking.com. The hostess insisted that I didn't understand how Airbnb works (which obviously is not the platform I used to make my reservation). Do not stay here.

The booking did not come though properly but the staff was great and ready to solve the issue. The other long term tenants were freindly and helpful.

I had to pay cash because there was no way to charge a credit card. Knowing this was rural America though I came prepared for that. Also no official receipt was given (handwritten on a blank paper) so any transaction record is not easy to use towards taxes or report proof of payment. The facility is organized but could use better cleaning on the area rugs..

The property needed a much needed makeover! Very dirty, old beds, bedding, dust, cobwebs, holes in the floors everywhere, bathrooms old and dirty, and pretty much an unsafe place to stay. Honestly this property needs to be shut down until a total make over can be done. I can’t believe it’s even legal for this place to be open!!!!

facility has, presumably of necessity, long-term tenants who maintain and use the building's kitchen and dining room. This didn't create problems, but it compromised access to those public facilities.
