Tianyi Homestay

Great location, a short walk from bus station, this property is on a 100 years old tea farm. The host couple is the 4th generation, they go above and beyond to make sure every guests having a wonderful time during their stay. We participated the firefly seeing and tea picking activities, which were once in a lifetime amazing experience. I strongly recommend this place. 地点很好，离车站走路距离，民宿坐落在100年茶园上，主人夫妇是第四代传人，他们热情好客，招待每位住宿客人度过难忘时光，我们参加了观看萤火虫和亲手采茶活动，这两项都成为终身难忘的美好经历，我强烈推荐天一休闲民宿。

My best homestay in Taiwan. Hosts were the nicest you can think of. Even though the owners speak little english, their children do and you can use Google translate if needed. They grow organic tea themselves, so you can enjoy as much tea as you want anytime of the day. This creates a really cozy atmosphere when all guests sit at the tea table and chat casually! They also propose activities on the farm, like firefly watching and tea picking in spring time (I visited around April 10th). Highly highly recommend staying there for a few nights to get to know the people a little bit more.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. They picked us up at the bus station and the next day they drove us to Fenchihu. We also provided many useful information about the history, culture and the people in Taiwan. We learned a lot from them.

We liked everything.

The view of the tea plantation and cherry blossoms just outside the homestay is amazing. It’s close to trails and about an hour drive to Alishan train station. We did tea picking within the homestay and the owner shared how tea is made and we also tasted the tea grown in the plantation.

The shower water was not hot for 2 of the 3 rooms that we’ve booked. Would be great if the breakfast can be earlier or at more flexible timing.

We had an amazing time at Tianyi homestay! For starters, the location is fantastic. It's easy to get to from the Shizhuo bus stop, the area is gorgeous, and it's within walking distance of all of Shizhuo's hiking trails. The owners are lovely. They're extremely enthusiastic about what they do, and are happy to chat endlessly about their tea, their pets, or anything else you ask them about, usually over a cup of their phenomenal oolong. Breakfast was excellent. They prepared a small buffet of classic Chinese breakfast foods served with rice. It was all vegetarian, but packed with flavour. We paid for two adds-ons: the first was the firefly viewing experience. This was an after-dark stroll through the woods with the owners to watch the thousands of fireflies dancing around in the air. If you've never done this sort of thing before, I highly recommend it. There was a real magic to it that couldn't possibly be captured on video, and the owner had tonnes to say about the fireflies. Second, we did the tea picking activity. As tea lovers, this was a super fun experience. We got to pick tea leaves from the bushes just behind the homestay with guidance from the owners, then after they'd dried overnight we got to roast them and roll them to make our own tea to bring home! Overall I highly recommend staying here, whether you're a tea fan or just looking to explore Alishan.

The owners speak limited English, so if there isn't a Mandarin speaker around to translate you might have a harder time. Nevertheless, the groups that didn't have any Mandarin speakers seemed to get by and enjoy themselves.

Owners were so lovely. Homemade Brekky was delicious. The tea farm was beautiful and located close enough to shizhuo town and bus stops. Room was comfy

The whole facility is below the standard. Rubbish everywhere in the property. Eating utensil is disorganised and unclean. Food were poor quality and uninteresting. Bedroom are small and bedding are uncomfortable. Over charged .
