"Highly recommend"

10.0

The responsiveness of David the host; his willingness to assist with all things on top of just the accommodation; the links he has locally which made going around Entebbe and Kampala effortless; his love of nature and how environmentally friendly his place is.....the list goes on!

The fact that the wait for the ferry to cross to Bukwayo could be longer than expected, although this had nothing to do with Plastic Bottles House.

"A peaceful, cozy, green homestay with an outstanding host"

10.0

This is a perfect place for travellers who want to learn about the local wildlife especially the birds. This is not your typical hotel, but rather a cozy peaceful homestay with an outstanding host. David is also very involved in the local community so he provided extensive information and was overall super helpful whenever we didn't know how to go about our plan.

The only downside of the place are the airplanes that are flying above before landing at the airport. We had a busy schedule every day, so we had no problems sleeping through it, but consider it if you are a light sleeper

"Poor communication methods"

1.0

I dint stay at the place because of the hosts poor communication. Instead of connecting me to someone available at the place, he instead said he’s traveling and just hanged up my call. Disrespectful so I ended up canceling.

"Such a relaxing and meaningful stay!"

10.0

What a wonderful stay! We had the best time at Plastic Bottles House, David took such good care of us! Loved the meaningful use of plastic bottles as a building material, the initiatives to support the local community, and the beautiful fruit trees all throughout the property. David is an avid birder (ranked #1 and #2 on ebird in Central Uganda!) and is the founder of the Entebbe Birding Club. Birders or aspiring birders are in for a treat, he really knows all about birds! Be sure to check out his bird photography and the shoebill tour (which we did and were lucky to see 2 shoebills and lots of other beautiful birds)! What a nice way to close out our Uganda trip!

"Impressive, amusing, interesting, wild life, birds, culture, unforgettable"

10.0

David offers a quiet place, a nice cosy garden with a lot of shadow as well as sun, lovely plants and trees that attract lots of birds 🤩 The rooms are comfortable enough nicely furnished. The plastic bottle rooms look very nice. David is a warm person with great knowledge of history, culture and nature: he is a real bird and nature lover what makes him a pleasant host and guide. He guided us during 6 days through several national parks and forests. He made a very varied program! Shortly: it was an unforgettable time. Thank you David for this great time and the fantastic picture 😍

"Comfortable, safe and relaxing. Would definetely come back"

10.0

Beautiful property. David’s garden is a quiet oasis that’s perfect for unwinding and taking in the serenity of the birds and nature. As a solo woman traveler i felt safe, and enjoyed reading in the garden and walking to the lake from the property. David is filled with great stories, and is a skilled birder who can teach you alot about Ugandan culture and birds. WIFI was strong enough to finish online assignments for school, light streaming and social media.

Nothing.

"Peaceful getaway"

10.0

David is the best! He made me feel so comfortable and at home. He knows a lot about birds and took me around some gems in Entebbe, including a boat ride to a random island that marks the equator point. His home cooked meals are delicious and very large portions. Also, the accommodation is a very unique, eco-friendly architecture. Will miss this place a lot!

"A truly nice stay with a real bird expert : David"

10.0

We really recommend it ! Our profiles : we’re a French couple, 34 years old. We stayed 18 days in Uganda for a self guided trip. We had our own car (Toyota 4X4) we rented in Kampala. We stayed one night there. Rooms are clean, confortable, better than in Kampala for same price. The shores of Lake Victoria are at walking distance (very beautiful near by Tilapia Lodge) But we really recommend that you take a birding tour with David the owner. He's a real bird expert, and going in the Mabamba swamp very early in the morning is an amazing exclusive experience. He took amazing pictures of birds with an high quality camera and shared them with us, as well as his knowledge. In addition to all this, David is simply very friendly and welcoming. A must do in our opinion !
