Rock View Home Stay

Property itself was well maintained and guest areas were very clean. It’s is very close to the temples! The lady who runs the property is amazing, such a love and generous cook.food is great.

There are ALOT of monkeys. Location is abit out of the way for anything other than the temple or if you don’t have transport

Lovely homestay, only 15min walk from dambulla cave temple. The dinner they prepared was absolutely lovely! Great stay!

This place is a gem, perfect location for the rock cave temple. Lovely clean comfortable room with ice cold aircon, the hosts are wonderful and friendly. They provided a delicious breakfast before we headed off in the morning. Loved it there.

Meeting the family. We read lots of reviews before deciding and the family were lovely. We took Upul's offer of a tour around the next day for a price which was good. He was very patient and prepared to wait wherever we went. We weren't really wanting to go to silk shops or massages but I enjoyed the herb garden and quick massage by the apprentice (lovely young lady) for a donation and the sleeping oil. Think it's helping 👍 We enjoyed our hike up piduranga rock and dambulla temple which was really easy walk from the homestay and Wathsalla preparing breakfast and one dinner. Bohoma stuthi. 🙏

Obviously the monkeys are very cheeky and come right up to the bedroom window so leave the place closed up. They are more wary of males and Upul keeps an unloaded rifle close by to just show them and they take off. They come on the roof too. Luckily they go in to the jungle through the night.

Food was delicious and they prepared all fresh. Location is quite peaceful and walkable distance to the Cave Temple. The host is a lovely family and is available 24/7 for any assistance, local guidance, etc.

Beautiful house in a quiet part of the Dambulla. Room was clean, large with very good AC and very comfortable, large bed. Super friendly and helpful hosts. Also, the breakfast was just absolutely delicious (Sri Lankan style)

Pleasant accommodation in a beautifully decorated house near the cave temple. The owners were great hosts. It was nice to chat with them. They also organized excursions in the area for us.

The nicest couple you could hope to meet, run this home stay. They were kind, patient and always trying to do their best for guests. We had 3 nights and evening meals and each one was delicious with very generous portions. Yummy. We loved the large, spotlessly clean rooms with communal balcony to watch the world go by. Also an easy 7 minute walk to the temple complex so very convenient. Tip: take socks which protect your feet from hot ground when you have to take your shoes off at the temple site! I doubt we will meet such lovely hosts again in our trip this year. Thank you for everything.

Absolutely nothing to dislike. And do consider he elephant safari. It was excellent and in my view much more fun than Sygiria at the same price!!
