Gillygate Holiday Apartment

The apartment was about a 10 min walk from the train station. It was clean and well presented, a basic welcome pack was in the fridge, a blackboard with loads of information was in the kitchen. Seb sent information about access etc when we booked and a text on the day we travelled .. I would recommend this apartment and Seb was a friendly host.

The host had left a few breakfast things for us which was lovely. Shower was great and beds really comfortable. Location was brilliant and was also good to have a parking space.

A lady knocked on our door in the morning when we were still in our pyjamas to ask us to move our car as it wasn’t quite parked correctly. This felt a little invasive and we would have preferred a message or a phone call for this

The property's location was so central. 15 minutes walk from the railway station. If the hairdresser is open, they will look after your luggage until the property is ready. You had a parking space at the back of the property. We did not have to walk very far to visit all the areas we wanted to visit. The large apartment would suit a crowd of 5 people. The kitchen was perfect, just what we needed. There was a separate dining room. The host was very generous in leaving us tea, coffee, milk, as well as bread and some chocolate fingers, which went down well with our coffee. The washing machine is available if required. We did not use it as we only stayed a couple of nights. T

The shower was not warm, we had to reset the boiler, which I found by chance in the downstairs bedroom. After a couple of attempts, it worked. One of the keys did not work very well in the lock at the front door. However, as we were leaving, the host popped in and we explained about the shower. He took on board what we said and offered compensation for the inconvenience.

The property was clean . Area was a great location and easy access for the shops and shambles.

Tbh this has been one of the nicest we have stayed in. The place was ideally located, clean and the beds were super comfy. I liked the balcony and despite being on a main road it was quiet and peaceful.

I cannot find fault with this place at all

The location is awesome, just next to a section of the old City Wall and a short walk to the York Minster. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen and washing machine worked well.

Nothing - the host (Seb) quickly resolved our questions about the heating.
