Glanwye

My wife and I enjoyed a lazy, relaxing, peaceful stay at Glanwye. We were not able to go out to explore the beautiful surroundings due to my wife suffering a knee injury just day before. However, we were very comfortable in the apartment and only had to go out for food. Fortunately, there’s a supermarket just down the road. On arrival we found a litre of organic milk in the fridge and a pack of croissant in the bread bin - which was a nice touch. The kitchen was well-stocked with tea, coffee, sugar etc., as well as herbal tea which my wife particularly enjoyed. The free Wi-Fi was very welcome and worked perfectly for social media, kindle etc. We loved watching the farm animals from the terrace outside, as well as the local wildlife including many birds such as pheasants, robins and kites. We plan to visit again in the future for another relaxing break and - finger-crossed - explore the area properly.

Great location, friendly hosts. Lovely apartment with lots of space - really comfortable with lots of character. Loved the goats, chickens and geese! So easy to walk into Hay - felt perfect having the best of both worlds - Hay on your doorstep but beautiful countryside surrounding you. Enjoyed walking across the field for a swim in the Wye.

The property is very rural - on a working farm and the outlook from the small terrace area was a delight. The property is spacious and well laid out and had everything we needed.

Unfortunately the property needed a very good clean. The lamps and ornaments were very ornate but with that comes the problem of trying to keep them clean and they were dusty and full of cobwebs. The toilet was not very clean. The bed was very creaky and the mattress rather lumpy and uncomfortable.

Beautiful location a short walk from Hay on Wye and on the banks of the river. Comfortable accomodation with a balcony overlooking fields of goats.

Lovely stay. Beautifully decorated, excellent attention to detail. The location was wonderful and the farm was a really special backdrop. No complaints at all. Would definetly stay again!

Fabulous location, very friendly and helpful owners and the accommodation itself was first class.

We had a lovely time watching the animals. The kitchen was great and it was really nice to have outdoor space. There was a delicious loaf when we arrived, and plenty of milk, tea and coffee.

Nothing to dislike. A hair dryer would be welcome, that is all. Remember to bring one if you need one!
