Cromwell House

The location was perfect, a short walk to the town centre, and with great restaurants nearby. There’s plenty of room in the house for 6 adults, and extra car parking next door. Owners are really responsive and quick to reply.

Lovely house in a great location. Big, plenty of room. It was a bit chilly in the kitchen but comfortable everywhere else. Take your slippers and be prepared for lots of stairs. We had a great time. The house is well equipped. Would have liked an easy chair in the bedroom and it would be good to take the masking tape from the ceiling lights ... finishing touches do matter. Recommend Chester and this house is a really good base to explore .... especially as it has a parking space.

Location excellent, kitchen large with all facilities to prepare meals. Bedrooms generously sized and beds comfortable.

There was a lot of road noise because of single glazing. En suite showers very small and en suite bathrooms could do with upgrade and deep clean in short term ( some black mould in showers, window blinds dusty and window pulley system broken in all 3 top floor windows)

location was very central. Beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. The house was warm and cosy. We'll equipped spacious kitchen.

The top bedroom needs a full length mirror and as we were 2 couples an extra set of keys would have been useful. A sign on the front saying Cromwell House would have made it easier to find. x

I would like to give some feedback about the property following our stay this weekend. For context there were 6 adults and 1 child staying in the property for a birthday celebration. What we liked about the property was it was in a Great location, had Great character and the decor was nice and it had a large family sized kitchen with a range cooker allowing us to cook and eat in given we had a child with us. Unfortunately there were many practical problems which made the experience of staying in the property quite difficult. The biggest problem with the property is that despite having 3 separate shower rooms guests are unable to shower at the same time. 2 people trying to shower at the same time resulted in the shower in the first floor en-suite being reduced to a dribble. Separately on the top floor the shower in the en-suite is barely a dribble and my eldest daughter was scolded as the shower varies between hot and scolding and the temperature cannot be regulated properly. As a result of the problems with the showers the 6 adults all used the shower in the main bathroom in turns in order to get a shower each morning. This is not what we expected having seen the marketing for the property and the price we were paying. The central heating worked well with the exception of second floor rear bedroom and the ground floor lounge where the thermostatic radiator valves are missing making it impossible to control the temperature in these rooms. There are a number of more minor problems that I would like to draw to your attention which further detracted from our enjoyment of the stay. In the kitchen there were a number of items missing which are basics for anyone preparing food. No wooden spoons, no chopping boards, no Sieve, no Pyrex bowls, no measuring jug. In addition the crockery was well worn and many items eg mugs were chipped and some items were incomplete eg cereal bowls.
