The Holgate Snug

There was everything we needed. The attention to detail was very evident. Lovely decor and spotlessly clean. Its only a short walk from the station with resturants and pubs nearby. Its about a 20 min leisurely walk into York Centre.

There was no terrestrial tv but it wasnt a huge problem!

The facilities were exceptional, perfect for a young family visit within easy walking distance to the city centre. It was also my wife’s Birthday weekend and the hosts were able to provide a lovely little package including flowers, balloons and a cake. It’s the little touches that make a big difference!

The master bed wasn’t brilliant. But perhaps this is just a preference difference with firmness of the mattress. I prefer a firmer bed.

Location great. Cozy apartment with lovely living /kitchen diner. A great place to stay with a family to explore York. Some high end features. We were impressed. You can access street parking with permit for £10. (I do think you could include this as part of the stay included)

The only little downside was the quality of the bed in main bedroom. Quite an uncomfortable sprung mattress and gap around the bed frame meant it wasn't the best. The bedroom was also cold, we used the electric fan heater to warm but unable to leave these on during the night. It wouldn't prevent us from booking again as everything else was really good. But to make it even better, a bigger / hotel quality bed would be wonderful. Please provide an iron and board as we did expect one to be there as per advert. (Not a hand steamer)
