Alfama Patio Apartments

Spacious apartment and nice outdoor shower!

Aparrment very central to all, easy to find , all neighbours very accommadating especially the little bar facing , we, stayed Fri-Mon, very lively..

Having to check out at an early time, but thats same all over, Fans very noisey.

Great location in Alfama.

Be aware this apartment is directly about a wine bar that stays open until 2am. It is extremely noisy until this time. There is no ventilation in bedrooms, therefore hot and stuffy, making a good night sleep difficult. There is no air conditioning (although we knew this, there was no airflow. We needed to keep windows closed for noise reduction).

The apartment was perfect for our short stay. The location is great for walking around Alfama. Easy walk to the train station. Communication was great between us and the host.

Please take note of the following details: - The listing mentioned that toiletries are provided but not shampoo. However, we typically bring our own. - The terrace in the photos featured a hammock, which was not actually available. - The apartment is located on a restricted access street, making it difficult for taxis or cars to reach directly. Your Uber or taxi will drop you off or pick you up about 100 meters from the apartment. This is important information, especially if you have heavy luggage. - The main door to the building is hard to close and has an automatic lock. You need to slam the door very hard to lock it as another tenant shared with us. This should be included in the check-in instructions. - Important information that was not provided in the listing: the 2-bedroom apartment we chose is on the first floor directly above the wine bar shown in the photo. While there are other bars on the street, many close at midnight, whereas this one remains open till 2 am. As a result, noise from the patrons can be heard in the apartment's living space and the first bedroom. Additionally, we often encountered intoxicated individuals on our stairs and had to ask them to move in order to enter the apartment. We were sisters traveling together and we did feel safe but also cautious. - Furthermore, due to the apartment's location, smoke from the bar travels up, restricting the opening of windows for fresh air in the late evenings. This is a consideration, as the noise and smoke can be disruptive.

Clean good location very caring staff . Very thoughtful easy access very near to train station and centre . Close to sea all the time

Old building but it’s what we were looking for in Alfama

Spacious and clean. In the center of the old town and close to a major station where the train connects Lisbon and Porto.

The floor is too loud. The door handles need to be fixed where I scratched my hand a bit as it's loose. There's a bar downstairs which is loud at night.

The location was perfect. Close to trains & metro. There was plenty of restaurants nearby & many attractions were easy to get to on foot. Alfama is a charming district tthat you could feel safe to wander & explore the streets. The apartment was very clean and every effort was made to make our stay comfortable.

Only one bedroom has a window & unfortunately there is a heat pump located right outside the window that was noisy. However there were fans provided which helped make for a comfortable rest.
