Spacious 3 bedrooms Cottage in Whalley

Great location . Comfy beds and roomy . Nice and clean .

Just needs a little more kitchen equipment and not warm for us overseas visitors.

Convenient location, clean, spacious

Nothing, everything was perfect.

Nice spacious cottage in the middle of whalley Close to shops, restaurants and takeaways. Reasonably clean and good value for money. High pressure showers. Lots of TVs. Easily found free road parking for 3 cars so lots of places. Perfect for what we needed 2 nights for 7 of us to go to a family wedding up the road.

Payment was a faff and ended up having to ring the owner for help and to confirm that we had paid as booking.com were notifying me that we hadn't. The key box wasn't too straightforward and we needed YouTube to help us reset it at the end of our stay. Kitchen could do with some more (clean) dish clothes and tea towels. Pull out bed downstairs past it's best.

Clean, with plenty of room. Easy to access.

Everything was fine.

Plenty space for 4 adults and 2 children, very close to village centre.

The oven didn't work, which we weren't warned about, so we arrived at 5pm with pizzas and no way of cooking them. We weren't given enough towels, and the 3rd floor carpet could have done with a hoover.

The beds weren’t comfortable the pillows were paper thin, luckily I found spares. To say it’s listed with a £80 cleaning fee he must be making profit on that. For a holiday let you would expect it to be cleaner. It smelt musty like no one had been in it for quite a while or they recently had a leak. We had to wash the cutlery because it was dirty after spending a few minutes trying to find a decent cloth to clean with as the sponge provided looked like it needed binning weeks ago. The facilities weren’t great the cooker didn’t work and the bathroom light was out (owner has been notified of this) thankfully the hob worked so we made do. With pans that are barely useable one of which didn’t even have a handle. So much confusion over payment, I booked months in advance, they tried to take payment very early with no warning to myself only a failed payment message appearing. When payment was due I received several messages saying it was to be taken from my account but would take a few days, this didn’t happen, messaged to see what was going on, I was informed I could pay directly. This doesn’t sit right when I received messages saying they were doing it. Whilst trying to sort it with booking.com I was told their only method of taking payment is over the phone or transfer no other payment is available. Understandably I was very concerned I was going to end up with payment being taken twice if I made a transfer. So with reassurance from booking.com and owner I paid via transfer. With an added £100 deposit for damages. Which yes I got back very promptly, but there was no mention of this till 4 days before arrival. A simple sentence in the original message stating on top of the price for the stay it’s also required that I pay £100. Instead I had to phone up to find out why this all of a sudden had been placed on my invoice. Very disappointed wouldn’t stay again.
