Lovely holiday home in Southminster

It was clean, close by the shops/takeaways and train station, perfect and ideal location in Southminister, 10 minutes away from Burnham-On-Crouch (where much more places to see/eat and drink are. Everything was clean, working well and nothing bad to say about the place. I asked the owner if I could stay up until 10am and he accepted with no extra charges although the stay was up till 9am. So much to say about this place, really good place and nice owner.

To be honest there isn’t much to say about what I did t like because there isn’t anything to be honest apart from one little thing which only the mail man can help by 👇…. Story: There was mail posted through the letter box.. the mail man didn’t push it through properly whatsoever and basically over time since the sun is shining on the door.. harmless couple flies got in.. as soon as I opened the door, they all left and none were seen in the apartment except from the first 2/3 minutes onwards.

The set up of the property was nice and was what was expected from the photos on the listing. That's the only good thing I have to say about my stay.

The property was in an extremely unclean state. The bed, sofa, and table were all dirty, covered in fluff, dust, and pet hair. There was a lack of essential items like toilet paper, napkins, and washing up liquid. The bin had not been emptied and emitted a foul odor, and that was just the start. Some amenities were also in disrepair, including the bedroom door and the shower head holder. I felt very uncomfortable and am very unhappy with my experience after spending a significant amount of money. Additionally, I was frustrated with the response I received from both the host and the booking site when I raised my concerns. The host suggested that I should have called during my stay for any issues to be resolved, but that was not an acceptable solution. I asked for a refund and was offered a small goodwill refund, which I am still awaiting, and the booking site provided some travel credits that are of no use to me. I typically do not leave such a negative review, but this listing did not meet the standards regarding cleanliness, stock, and facilities as advertised. I wish the photos had captured the full extent of the dirty environment, unfortunately, they did not. If you are looking for a place that is clean, well-stocked, and has facilities that work, I would advise against staying here. Edit - I am not fabricating anything, and the photos corroborate my statement. I do not appreciate the comments made by the host. It’s hard to believe he would openly acknowledge, 'Yes, my property was dirty and not maintained properly.' Is this an act of blackmail? Is that lying? "These people" are your clientele, and if this is how you respond, then it reflects poorly, much like the overall experience.

駐車場付き。家を出たすぐのところにお店がある。駅にも近い。ホストは基本すぐ回答をくれるが、対応に時間がかかったが不要な料金の返金にも応じてくれた。

外の入口が汚かった。シャワールームのガラスの引き戸のサイズが合っておらず、隙間ができて、きちんと閉まっていなかった。バスマットがあれば良かったです。セルフケータリングだったので、ゴミ出しの方法の案内があるといい。洗濯ができるのは良かったが、裏庭に干すことができるといいと思います。

It was convenient

It was very hot as no airflow - unable to open windows as on ground floor directly onto main road. Could have been cleaner.

We liked the central location.

The sofa is not very comfortable - narrow seat and low back.

Very easy and helpful host.

Nothing to complain about.
