Friendly staff, gym and nice pool. Room was big

No fresh towels, we had to wash them ourselves unfortunately. The hair dryer was broken and unfortunately wasn’t replaced after we told the staff. Also the shower was only a rain shower with no water pressure and the water always stayed cold. Also we booked a room with balcony but there was no real balcony it was more like an inside smoke lounge. So that extra money definitely was a waste.

There was no water at our arrival (1 hour before check in time, we paid 350 pesos more for the extra hour ) When we told to the person at the from desk , there were other guests complaining that they didn’t have water since the previous day; we went out and returned at night , there was finally hot water. However during most of our stay we didn’t have hot water to shower. I don’t recommend this place.

This place is at the quieter end of town which was great. Lots of space in the apartment. Quality of the materials and the finish across the whole property was very high. The pool is gorgeous! Aircon powerful and access to Netflix a bonus!

The balcony was internally facing and this is not clear on the booking page AT ALL! My first impression was very poor but it improved. I stayed for 5-days and there was no cleaning service or cleaning materials available so I felt it was a bit unhygienic. The administrator was not very helpful when I said I wasn’t happy about the balcony.

Accodation was clean and it located conveniently in easy walking distance (400 meters) from the beach and from the 5th Avenue.

Not knowing whether us not being Spanish speaking caused it, but found the front desk male employees rather rude. It is good to know in this accomodation changing/washing beach towels means customers wash them in the laundry room. The reservation system for the laundry room wasnt organized nor monitored. Folks left their laundry in the washing machine or dryer after the programs were finished. We found our laundry taken out during the programme and left wet on the top of the washibg machine. Wonder if this is ecological or even economical way to handle guests towel laundry, instead of personnel co-ordinating washing machines being fully packed before running the programs. Not being about about some tens of pesos, but in Mayan Monk suites the toilet paper is not included for all your stay into room price. When asked about toilet paper the arrogant male front desk worked didnt bother even to lift his head from his cell phone nor say anything to me while asked. After some waiting he just lift pricelist into front desk where I was able to learn I should pay to get toilet paper. We reserved Deluxe apartment which was stated being 48m2. Our room 104 surely wasnt that size. Unless the bottom floor room’s so called ”terace”, where was no any view outside (only beton walls), was included into size. The room 104 had no windows where one could see outdoors. For some reason we didnt get understanding for the above while booked the Deluxe appartment.

Location is perfect 5 minute walk to beach and 5th ave 10 minute walk to grocery store private rooftop was amazing as was the view from up there

Getting stuck in elevator when it stopped functioning- Having to wait several minutes before being rescued- Then being told that it’s a common occurrence from time to time- Absolutely NO view of anything from the one window Very dark in the rooms

The Mayan Monk suites had the most perfect location! Close to all the action on 5th, walking distance to everything, especially if you dont mind walking a few blocks. The bonus was the late night tacos around the corner from the hotel! The staff were all fantastic, there was always someone at the front desk to greet you, answer any questions or to call you a taxi! Oh my goodness, the beds were so comfortable too! It definitely made it hard to get out of bed in the morning! The balcony was also such a great incentive! This location was simply wonderful & I will never stay anywhere else while in Playa!

The water pressure isn't the strongest in the master shower & it takes a while to warm up, also the lighting was very dim in the bathroom which makes it hard to do makeup, shave etc.

The gentleman at reception was great. He helped me navigate the laundry facility and also carried my luggage to the taxi when I left. The location is also great, it is within walking distance of many restaurants and stores as well as very close to the beach. Everything was clean and comfortable in the room and the wifi was good. It was also generally very quiet at night.

The lighting was really dim. I stayed on the first floor and there was not much natural light coming into the room. I didn't spend any time in the outside porch/balcony area because it smelled of mold out there. But it didn't really matter because I spent most of my time outside the room, exploring the town and spending time at the beach.
