Tarnside Cottages

Cosy well appointed self catering cottage on outskirts of Brampton. Great for walking. Easy access to Lake District, North Pennines and Northumberland coast. Outdoor patio area with great views over Talkin Tarn. Friendly and knowledgeable host.

The location was excellent with wildlife at the door. The welcome pack was a nice touch. The cottage was well equipped and it was so nice to meet the race horses on site. We will return if we are in the area in the future.

Our stay at Tarn Side Cottage in the North Pennies was, without a doubt, the highlight of our travels through Wales, England, and Scotland. Among the various accommodations we experienced, this charming cottage stood out as the best. Anne, the gracious host, was incredibly kind and accommodating, even when we needed to adjust our reservation due to a misunderstanding after reading other reviews. Her welcoming demeanor shone through during our phone conversation, putting us at ease immediately. Despite our late arrival, delayed by the many attractions we explored on our journey from Scotland, we were warmly greeted and made to feel right at home. The cottage itself exudes the charm of a traditional English countryside retreat. Complete with all the amenities one could need, it truly felt like a home away from home. Our only regret was not staying longer to fully appreciate the serene surroundings and breathtaking views while enjoying meals outdoors. The idyllic setting, with chickens, sheep, and horses just next to the cottage, added a delightful touch to our stay. We were particularly grateful for the fresh eggs and honey mustard provided by Anne, which made our meals even more special. Our time at Tarn Side Cottage will remain a cherished memory, a perfect blend of tranquility and comfort. We highly recommend this cottage to anyone seeking a peaceful escape in the beautiful North Pennine countryside.

Lovely warm welcome on arrival. Anne had also lit a fire for me. I only had a short stay but I was surrounded by wonderful views, horses and chickens.

We had a lovely week at the Tarnside Cottages everything was spot on There are plenty of walks from the cottage There was also a lovely welcome pack waiting for us when we arrived Thank you again

We loved the location. It was peaceful. The cottage was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed visiting the animals too! There are lots of chickens, and we had fresh eggs for breakfast! There are race horses there as well. We loved visiting them in the stables. Anne was very lovely to chat with. We would definitely stay there again.
