The location and the block inside is really dated

The location is great, walking distance to the city centre and Story Bridge.

The windows are facing a Woolworths supermarket so every early morning is super noisy with the trucks loading /unloading stuff.

Blinds/curtains did not block out light from shopping centre across the road, difficult to sleep. Windows did not close and lock properly, so noise and yelling heard at night time. No wifi access - sim card not available on modem and could not connect.

Good location only a 10 minute walk to the city at max even quicker if you use the scooters. It’s also not far at all from the valley. I wouldn’t say it’s the heart of the city but it’s pretty close to it. I prefer staying at units with a kitchen so it feels more roomy than a small hotel room. Although it’s a small studio room it still had everything that you would need, a good size modern kitchen, Washer/dryer(extremely quiet) and decent bathroom. Even has a small cupboard that has fold up chairs if you want to open up the dining table that is compact or you can pop your belongings in there. Conveniently at the back of the unit which you can get to by going to the bottom floor and using the door, there is a Woolworths! So not far to go for groceries if you want to cook at home or need snacks etc. Access into the unit was an easy process, if you follow the directions that you are provided with on the madecomfort website you will be fine! The lockbox is also very simple to use. I was concerned about this from other reviews but this was nothing to worry about. Making contact with them does take some time via messages, however if you get their phone number before you get there you can phone them. They did send a message to the madecomfort message box which I did not get until after we had checked out, perhaps you could send this with the check in details, as once I checked in I didn’t check it again! There are some stunning features inside the building from when it must of been an industrial building perhaps? Beautiful wooden support beams and industrial bolts and plates that connect them. Old style fire extinguisher paperwork in the ceiling. The old exposed bricks in some parts of the walls, which just adds such a vibe to the room! I wish that I had of taken photos of these for the review.

In my honest opinion ….. Considering that you charge us a cleaning fee the unit is not clean to a standard that I would expect after paying a decent cleaning fee and being that this is a hired unit, which is an irritation to say the least. When you walk in you can immediately smell the unit which isn’t bad but also isn’t nice either. You do adjust to it after a while but you smell it each time you come back home. There was rubbish jammed in the lounge. I dropped some stuff which went under the lounge and was met with dirt and rubbish under the lounge also. shows it’s not been moved and cleaned under there for a long time. The kitchen bench was not clean either, dust and grease grime. The handbasin in the bathroom needs fixing from continual water damage. The shower needs a good heavy duty clean too. The blinds in the lounge room are broken and don’t work except for one, so you can’t open them. Not that you really want to as there is a gym in the building next door that looks directly into the unit. Minor but irritating, the coffee machine had the incorrect pods for it so you couldn’t even use it. From the last user the cutlery had food still stuck on them, had to rewash them. Again perhaps the cleaners should be checking this? It shouldn’t be up to the next person coming in to have to rewash dishes/cutlery. No laundry detergent provided not even a single use sachet. It is said in the description that there is a gym, there is not. All of the above you can get past, some just a minor inconvenience. I found the worst part to be the below….. The noise from outside is horrific! This honestly ruined the whole stay and I would highly suggest people to take this into consideration when looking at staying here. Saturday morning around 5am the rubbish bin collection starts and it’s all industrial bins which is directly outside the units window.

Dusty. Bathroom fan does not work properly. Mould on linen.

Location is great, easy to find the place and easy for get in the room.

Wifi is not working. Dealing with the problem through the management company cannot solve it immediately. The problem of no internet has not been resolved, which was the most frustrating result during our stay. The entrance to the garbage disposal was locked and we didn't have the key, so it was quite troublesome to stay there for more than a week.
