When we arrived there was a swarm of bees in the eaves making the house unusable for us. My daughter is allergic to bee stings, and we have a one-year-old baby and a dog with us. Although the host said she would get the bees removed, we could not wait as we had a two and a half hour drive back home and did not want to be driving in the dark. The wooden floor of the upstairs room was very noisy and I see this has been commented on before

Die stilte en skoonheid van die natuur is sielsverfrissend, terwyl ons die groot huis met 'n groot stoep, braaigeriewe, kaggel en alle ander geriewe, vreeslik geniet het. Ons het selfs 'n bietjie met die bootjie uitgevaar en sommer net heerlik gaan wandel.

The property was well equipped with all amenities and we had both solar and a generator. The view was beautiful with cows roaming the farm. A lovely place to stay.

We unfortunately didn't see any otters or fish in either of the dams.
