Renovated English Basement 2bdrm Home near METRO

Well located, clean, safe and when we had a problem the property manager responded immediately and effectively.

We had a problem with the gas cooker not turning off, but the manager did her best to sort it out. She was friendly and efficient. The property was designed to sleep 4 but there were just 4 mugs, 4 glasses and not enough cutlery. This meant we were constantly running the dishwasher which must cost the host a fortune. The mattresses were in a plastic cover which crinkled every time you moved in the bed. They were not nice to sleep on. The property was dark and there was nowhere to sit out in the light. This could easily be remedied by more mugs and cutlery, dead trees in the back yard being removed and a different cover on the mattress.

The apartment is in a very quiet neighborhood and I felt very safe and secure there. The bedrooms were large with ample lighting, a closet and drawers to put things in. The kitchen had everything we needed including a washer and dryer with detergent and such. It was a quick and easy walk to both the Columbia Heights Metro Station and the parking garage/grocery store.

The bathroom door sticks at the bottom when you open it. The water pressure in the shower is quite low so expect to spend a little extra time rinsing off. For me personally I could not handle the plug in air perfume. I had to set them outside during the stay as they give me a headache.

The fact that I got a call from the owner while we were out for the day informing me that some workers were going into the AirBnB to clean the backyard. I informed her I didn't feel comfortable with someone entering the AirBnB with our belongings inside. When we returned, they hD came in and plugged up a portable air conditioner in the living room. And it was throwing out hot air, plus this means someone was in there, not in the back yard. I have never had anyone come inside an AirBnB I have rented, and I have rented lots of AirBnB all over the world. NEVER HAD TO WORRY ABOUT THIS

Excellent location, well-equipped, quiet, spacious basement apartment. Perfect for a family. Transportation and shops nearby. Did not see hosts, but instructions were clear and easy.

One portable AC unit in living room didn't quite keep the bedrooms cool during a heatwave. In normal times, it would probably be sufficient. "Couch-bed" in living room was really just a wide couch.

The apartment was in a great location and bigger than I had thought. It was clean and had everything we needed, i.e. washer/dryer, dishes, stove, etc. . The owner was very communicative and accommodating. They have a handy little black book that gives information about the surrounding area like the restaurants, things to do, and emergency information, which was great. We enjoyed our stay in D.C and this apartment is a great place to stay while there.

Nothing. You can hear people walking upstairs and the shower pressure is a little weak but none of these things bothered us.

the removated basement apartment was obviously a renovated basement being a little dark with a windowless bedroom built into the middle. Some of the renovations, like tiling, were a little crude.
