the host cancelled our stay less than 4 hours before check in with very little information other than tradesmen were needed at the property. there was an offer to help us find alternative accommodation but when we called the number of the host provided by booking.com there was no answer. we emailed via booking.com giving our number and asking the host to call but were told 'the cleaner has the work phone' and no attempt to call us was made from any other phone. this cancellation was particularly unfortunate given we had only made the booking 3 weeks prior because the hotel we should have been in also cancelled our stay in favour of an exclusive conference booking, so we were desperate and really would have been happy to stay in the property with whatever damage had been caused by the previous guest - had the host taken the time to call us we could have at least had this conversation to see it it were a possibility. I sent daily emails via booking.com to the host requesting a refund but none of my emails were responded to. after 5 days of this I telephoned booking.com customer services who sorted the refund immediately.

It was good

A beautiful apartment, everything that you could possibly need. Loved having the option of 2 bathrooms with being a family of 5. Comfortable and spacious. In a wonderful location. Great that there was the option to park in the local permit area. If visiting Stratford again, I would definitely want to use the property again but would have to be in the summer time.

Unfortunately we cdnt get the TV to work as it kept coming up as no signal and wdnt allow us access any channels. Also the biggest problem was we cdnt get the central heating to work. At this time of year is a much needed essential. It really wouldn't be an issue in the summer time. Due to only being an overnight stay, I didn't contact the owner, if the stay had been longer, I wd of made contact. Maybe having instructions accessible for the TV and heating would be good. It would have been good to have a tea towel in the property.

Excellent location, big apartment, great communication with the host

Unfortunately the apartment is let down by a lack of maintenance. It needs a freshen up of carpet and paint. If these things were done it would rate as a 10.

It was a gorgeous apartment in such a great location, good value for money and we hope to return for longer sometime. Host was really pleasant even when I didn't read instructions properly and couldn't get in to building due to my own error! Lovely stay, thank you

Heating didn’t work, kept tripping the breaker The freezer had been left open prior to our visit and doesn’t close due to ice build up. The drain in the shower room is slow, a long shower may cause a flood. One of the toilet flush pads had been broken before we arrived.

Location was great , bit noisy at times but you are in the centre so you except that. Shops on the door step.

Single beds not good for adults. Needs a little TLC but it’s an old building.
