I arrived at the property at 15:45 hrs. The lock box would not open. Contacted the host, no reply. Sent message on booking.com, no reply. Called booking.com. and was on the phone for 1.25hrs.. Gave a time limit of 30 mins for the host to make contact. I received a message 43 minutes later. Eventually I got access to the property at 18:05 hrs. It was horrific. Patio full of weeds, grubby windows, door unlocked, but could not lock from the inside, access to the kitchen area. Again grubby. Located on a council estate. The room door had a 3" gap under it. The floor In front of the window was supported by the carpet, and the board had failed beneath it Mould in the shower room ceiling. No towels in the room. The room was grubby. The listing photographs are from when the property was freshly modernised. The duvet cover was unironed. I felt insecure in the room and the time it had taken to gain access and the lack of towels, I had been up since 4 am, done a day's work and was looking forward to a shower to wind down. I messaged the host, no reply within 30 minutes and booked into a Hotel. Put keys back in the key box and I left the property. The host's reventual eply was...'thank you' No more, no less.. I have lodged a complaint. Very poor service. I do not recommend this host.Was so distressed, I didn't take more pictures. I wish I had to illustrate the state of this property.

○Location is on a council estate. ○The whole place stinks of cannabis. ○The room is filthy! Window (Cigarette burns on the upvc) Blinds (stained) Carpet (dirty and stained) Toilet (mold on the floor and urine stains on the bowl), Shower (mold) Bed (matress cheap and uncomfortable and bedding not fresh clean bedding) No sound proofing (TV in next room can be heard like it's in your room) Very disappointing, low standard and looks nothing like the images advertised! (Well not room 3 anyway)

The bed was comfortable, the blind behind the curtains was nice to shut out the light.

Although, I knew that Bretton was not a great area when booking, I didn’t expect that the door to the house would be left unlocked by all other residents (or quite often wide open) and the small lock on the room doors provided little security. I locked the door every time I passed through and every time it would be open when we left/returned. The room was dirty with marks on the walls. The bathroom was tiny with no space to dry oneself after a shower (not that the water stayed hot enough in busy times anyway). A quarter of a roll of toilet paper for guests staying for multiple days is not adequate. There are very few plugs so we had to charge on the opposite side of the room. No bedside lamp meant having the full light on until ready to sleep (there was a small wall lamp on the opposite side of the room to the bed, but the bulb was gone). Drawers and cupboards were broken, and there was no wardrobe at all.

No fan and it was boiling, filthy communal areas and also all doors wide open for anyone to walk in. Piles of washing up. Just more like a hostel than apartment.

Dirty, sleazy no communication with the owner who did not even issue an invoice. Avoid

Nothing at all. We didn't stay there..... Found alternative accommodation for the weekend

Smoke detectors where covered with plastic bags. Extension leads running down the side of worktop. No curtains what so ever.!!! Fridge had stains of food inside the freezer, was just as bad. Everything was dirty, all sorts of things missing off walls. Stair rail, towel rail, mirror or picture?
