Fun, cool, slightly rustic inn. Very good service, well run. surprisingly good food. Very relaxing place to stay. Thoughtful innkeeper (local leader). A bit out of town but not inconvenient. Also a pleasant place to hang out when it rains...

This place is so beautiful and special. Surrounded by nature and very peaceful, perfect for a getaway and relaxation. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely coming back to Casa de Vista Alta

Beautiful location in the cloud forest a few miles above the town of Mindo. We stayed in the upper level of the Canopy treehouse, which was a perfect combination of a quiet retreat with the birds and surrounded by an incredible view of nature. We enjoyed the walk to and from the main house that made us feel we had our own special nature getaway. The staff was friendly, with a notable call out to Jhon who was exceptionally attentive and Aracely who made the most delicious meals every day. We will always fondly remember this special week in the cloud forest with Casa Vista de Alta!

Due to the location in the cloud forest, it is humid and a bit buggy—an improvement could be more air flow by adding indoor/outdoor ceiling fans in the main area and in the rooms/deck area, as well as more window screens. Overall however, it was an excellent property that we would highly recommend!

Excellent location and friendly staff

The pictures, description and reviews did not say anything about how the cabins are a 5 minute walk into the woods on unpaved trails. My parents are 64 with back and knee issues so had we known this we would not have booked. The one handrail on the way to the cabin across the street broke when my mom used it. We were also unaware that the room and the cabin we booked were a 10 minute walk away from each other so our group was split up. This accommodation did not meet our expectations at all and we wish that there were more detailed descriptions of the property. Also the view is honestly not impressive since there was a large plot of land that had been cut down.

We were so pleased with our hotel experience. We stayed at the canopy house which was amazing. The view from the room of the Andean cloud forestthe outdoor jacuzzi, waking up to birdsong. The fresh breakfast was amazing, but so were all of the meals. The staff was very friendly. They happily entertained my 10 year old birder educating him about the local birds. Really kind, good people. We almost didn’t want to leave the hotel room because of the wonderful access to birdwatching. We loved our experience.

The food was very delicious, and view from reception was incredible. Also, view from room was really lovely too. Also not sure if driver works for hotel but he was amazing, and gave us an incredible tour of city.

Room had a ton of bugs, but maybe should of been expected considering cabin in the woods but at the price we assumed it wouldnt have any. Also shower doesnt work would go from scolding hot to freezing cold without touching knobs. Also, not allowed to eat in room because they didnt want to attract bugs, even though room was already filled with them. Also time schedule very strict so have to plan around breakfast and dinner if want to eat there. Also make sure ask prices ahead of time because bird tour offered there was very expensive, but the guide was really kind.
