Meals were great and abundant, even if a bit fish dominated but to be expected on an island. 3 double rooms on upper floor. one room with private bathroom, others one shared bathroom, western toilet with bucket, cold water, towel, fan, mosquito net, wifi, free water refill/tea/coffee. No sink/washbasin. Some fruits juice/desserts options for meals would be nice.

Helmi and Yoke were wonderful, welcoming hosts who showed great care for their guests. Nothing was too much trouble, dive trip, transfers and oddball requests dealt with efficiently and with grace. The food was simply amazing. Great use of local resources to produce a local cuisine that was second to none on the island. Whilst largely fish or chicken based, every meal was different, and delicious. Fresh tastes, plenty of vegetables, cold beer and warm smiles. We had only booked one night, planning to extend but unfortunately we had to move as our room was already booked. No problems, Helmi and Yoke were only too happy to have us as casual diners, which ended up to be every evening meal for the remaining week we were on the Island. The rooms are quite spartan, air conditioning is coming, but everything is clean and well presented.

Awesome stay! The family who runs the guesthouse were so warm hearting. Every meal was fresh and delicious. You can feel that they run the guesthouse with passion. Highly recommended.

The owners are lovely, very attentive and kind. Great location and superb homemade food. Outstanding value for money.

No sink in the bathroom, they should install one to wash hands and teeth. The beach is the parking lot for fishing boats, so not a beach to chill / swim (IMO). You have beaches to relax more north on the island. Dogs barking right next to us (not due to the owner but not a place to relax if you are noise sensitive) Church making announcement at 5am (same as previous)

Great location in the village right next to the public ferry. The food was incredible, as mentioned by many others. You can experience the life of the people of Bunaken, as you are staying with a local family and everything happens on the street and beach around the house. The dive shop next door is also really good. Free water and coffee were also appreciated and the fan in the room an absolute necessity!

The communication with the host family was sometimes difficult due to them not speaking english not that well. The standard is lower than in other places in Indonesia, there is no aircon or flush toilet and there were regular power outages, but this is mainly due to being on a remote island and you get an authentic experience for the life there.

Clean room, comfortable mattress. BEST FOOD in Sulawesi. Not joking, have been travelling for over a month now and it has been the best food by far. Everyday is different and really tasty. That is the best reason to stay. We came to this place because we read the good reviews about food and didn’t disappoint.

Rooms aren’t very spacious. External bathroom. But is comfortable. I would have taken the room with private toilet if it would have been available.

Helmi and family were extremely welcoming. Acommodation simple but clean and great value for money. Right in the centre of the village and only a few meters walk from public boat. Best guest house food we have ever had! Great variety, quality and quantity. Helmi organized great local snorkellng trips on his boat. Overall, a wonderful stay in Bunaken.

We really enjoyed our stay here, Helmi and his wife run this guesthouse in such a lovely way. The food was great and varying each day. They provided vegetarian food upon request as well. There are ventilators in the room and several spots to chill during the day. The rooms are simple and clean. Directly at the beach. The hosts arranged a scooter for us within minutes, as well as public ferry tickets back to Manado. You‘ll have dinner together with the other guests in the common area which is really lovely and homely. Thank you!!
