Black Rock House

The host was incredibly welcoming and the information supplied in advance was really helpful. Parking was on street and thankfully was very easy. Black Rock House is really attractive inside and our room was lovely and had everything we needed in it. The crisp bed linen and comfortable bed ensured we slept really well. Vincent showed us how to get to the White Rock Theatre and also where our chosen restaurant could be found. Breakfast was served at a communal table that was beautifully set. We just opted for juice, fruit and pastries and they were delicious. The Fortnum & Mason Sicilian lemon curd was a very nice touch.

There wasn't anything we didn't like.

My wife and I stayed at Black Rock House, in a sea view room, for three nights in May. Black Rock House offers high class hotel standards in a B&B setting. Our bedroom was spacious, comfortable, well-lighted and equipped and with a modern bathroom. The breakfast was excellent, with a lot of choice and very well presented. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. For those travelling by public transport, as we were, the house is a ten minute walk from the railway station. It was a very good stay and good value for money. Strongly recommended.

Vincent is very welcoming and goes to great lengths to make everyone feel welcome, comfortable and truly looked after. Beautifully appointed room with great attention to detail - an extraordinarily high standard is set, for example, the quality of coffee in the room is amazing (it beats 5 star hotels I stay in!), the furnishings, bed linen, towels and bathroom are all exceptionally presented and no expense is spared in providing what guests need. The breakfast is the icing on the cake. Wonderful selection of high quality food and beverages (where else do you get freshly squeezed orange juice, and really great coffee? Answer: right here).The scrambled eggs are to die for. The weather was rather cold and Vincent went out of his way to ensure we were warm and comfortable in our room; this is worth noting: the heating is excellent and the rooms are warm as well as comfortable. I'm not one to rave about a place however Vincent really surpasses all expectations. We would definitely go back and stay again, and recommend Black Rock House.

The host made us feel very welcome. There were useful items in the room. I had a towelling robe to use. The host gave us fresh milk every morning for our tea that day. The food we were given for breakfast was top quality. It made for a very nice stay 😊

The kettle could have been replaced. It wasn't very good. It seemed quite old. The 'on' button didn't work particularly well. Nothing other than this.

The beautiful décor and antique accompaniments.

The house is beautiful! The hygiene and hostess are impeccable.
