Silent River Cottage

The place was nice and clean and the hosting family was very accommodating. The facilities, the meals and of course being able to spend time in outdoors made our trip a whole. We absolutely loved the time we spend at silent river cottage. Would definitely visit this place again and highly recommend it to anyone who likes to get some quality time, surrounded by rich nature

We got to stay in the new accommodation across the road, so comfortable and spacious, in the middle of the banana trees, surrounded by lush nature. We even saw a toucan! We had a great swim in the nearby river with the host’s kids (so cute and sweet), by the way they do everything as a family so don’t be surprised if they come wish you good morning as a group lol. Of course we also did a safari organised by the host and it was definitely worth it. We really recommend this place - a bit secluded from the center of Udawalawa but you don’t need to go outside, everything is provided.

Everything from the park like setting to the beautifully decorated, very clean rooms to the wonderfully tasty food they prepared for us. They even paled us a great lunch for our safari. But the crowning jewel was the beautiful river that flowed through their backyard.

I loved everything about this property. It was so peaceful. Unfortunately we can’t share any photos until we go home and edit those.

The owner is very nice and helpful. She also cooked dinner buffet which was fantastic! We had a very nice stay and felt comfortable. We can highly recommend.

Nothing

We stayed only for one night. The apartman and garden was good. They have chairs and hammocks in the garden, so you can check the peacock from there. The room was clean, working AC, working WIFI. We had a great dinner at the place for 1.600 rupees. We werent pushed to buy safari from them. They organised us a tuk-tuk to the sea for a reasonable price.

Host family were incredibly hospitable So kind and generous

Super friendly host, delicious breakfast, nice river to swim in. The room and bathroom were super clean! The host organized us a driver for a very good price and also a 6h safari tour for 70 USD p.P including entrance and breakfast in the Uduwalawe national park. The Safari was amazing our guide spotted many animals and explained everything we needed to know.

The family was very nice and caring. They took good care about every wish we had, gave us dinner and arranged a safari. The safari and our driver was good! He cared for us and made us see a lot of elephants. The facility were nice, of course it’s in the landslide, so keep that in mind. Peacocks in the garden, a river, and lots of bats at night flying over us, which we liked a lot. Cozy veranda too!

We enjoyed our stay very much! Such a peacefull location perfect for relax but close to Udawalawe city center and National Park. We chose it because of perfect reviews and we were not dissapointed! Wery warm, kind, helpful hosts made our stay amazing. The food was great and the owner organised Safari for us which was great! The owner let us stay longer than we should and when we wanted some wine he even drove to the city to get it for us! Thank you so much for lovely stay!

We were very well looked after. The food was delicious and the safari they owner booked us on was great! We ate and did the safari with the other lady who was staying there. It just felt like a really lovely atmosphere, and we stayed for 2 nights. The hammocks are a nice touch, and we played cricket with the whole family for hours. They really do their best to make sure your stay is perfect. We will hopefully get the change to come again :)

Rooms are amazing and spacious. If I had to find a negative, I would say the air freshener is really strong as we entered the room haha
