Lodge Ueno Ski

the room was a bit dated but clean and spacious. Location is good, not too far from the slope (up hill) and very close to the city center, both in walking distance. There is a public onsen literally next door which you can use for free.

a bit dated, the bathhouse inside the facility is a bit too small, can only use 2 person at a time.

Great Japanese breakfast, convenient location and friendly helpful staff. Easy walking distance to the bus, slops and restaurants.

On level 3 there was only a toilet with a urinal and a Japanese traditional toilet. To use a western toilet meant walking to a lower level.

Really great location close to the centre of town and short walk up hill to one of the main ski lifts. Staff were helpful and friendly. Fair price for rooms

We stayed in a traditional “Japanese” room, although it was nice to experience, we found the floor beds to be quite uncomfortable. Also, all the showers are shared (no private cubicles) and you were only allowed to use them between 5-11pm

Inside looks nicer. Outlook from outside the hotel not so beautiful but once inside pretty nice. We upgraded to ensuite with toilet and sink. Short walk to Nagasaka gondola. We rent our skis from Thanx and left it there after skiing. Very close to the town. Beside it there’s an onsen.

We were put on 4th floor no lift. So we had to carry our bags up. Not much of an issue for us young people.

Great lodge and Onsen next door to experience a great Japanese mountain stay.

Great location. Only a minute or so walk to the main street. It's a 10 or so minute uphill walk to the gondola base, but at least there are ski lockers there to make this easier. It's very traditional and the rooms are warm and comfortable. The photos here and on the website are not great and as other people have said it is much nicer in real life. It's good value for money.

There are shared toilets and shared bathrooms. But you would be aware of this when you book.

Very comfortable stay. It is basic but was a great base for our Nozawa onsen ski trip.

There is no hot water in the room.
