Old House

Book the Old House Holiday Home in the village of Monsanto and you will not be disappointed! It is very unique with a boulder inside the bathroom and bedroom. Eloiza and Fernando were so friendly and welcoming. Eloiza even met us down the hill in her electric car where we parked at the canons, so she could pick up our luggage and take it up to the house. She also served us a delicious breakfast in the morning. Fernando spent time welcoming us and talking about the history of the Old House and Monsanto. We really enjoyed joining the locals in the street during our one night stay. Wish we could have stayed longer! The Old House and boulder town will always be a special memory of our family's trip to Portugal. The hike up through the buildings built into the boulders to the Castle used in "House of the Dragon/Game of Thrones" was incredible. Thank you Eloiza and Fernando!

It's a fairy tale house, very authentic. Makes you feel like living in a different time. We loved it.

It felt right at home. I absolutely loved the hosts and their hospitality and friendliness and all the help we got from them

Wow this was a unique stay . Amazing guest house and an amazing experience . The breakfast on the verandah overlooking valley by our host was special .

Beautiful spot to stay while exploring Monsanto, and the sunset from the porch cannot be missed! Eloisa is an amazing host. She speaks little English, and I speak little Portuguese, but I enjoyed her company and our conversations nonetheless. She has many suggestions for sightseeing in the area, and made our visit truly memorable!

We loved the town of Monsanto and staying at The Old House was fantastic. The house is spacious, has lots of unique features and contains fascinating antiquities. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. The hosts are super friendly and very helpful in transporting luggage between the parking area and the apartment. We highly recommend this place and hope to go back for another stay soon.

Everything was amazing! Eloiza and Fernando were amazing hosts! If you get a chance to visit Monsanto ( which you should), I strongly recommend staying here! This is an amazing village with amazing hosts! Could not have been happier! Thank you!

I've been to hundreds of hotels and have only rarely had an experience as unique and beautiflul as this. How can a whole house be available for this price? I would have paid four times the amount that I did and have felt I got the proper value for my money. Honestly, Fernando and Eloiza should charge much more than they do. A bedroom, a loft, a living room, and a kitchen, all well appointed and welcoming. A porch with a view unexcelled. Oh! and Eloiza brought a full spread for breakfast! Unbelievable. And Monsanto? This is a must see village. There are other LIsbons in the world but only one Monsanto. No one could possibly stay in this home in this village and be disappointed.
