Gorton House and Cottages

Wonderful, spacious, comfortable property full of character. Absolutely stunning grounds. Charming decor. Loved the woodburner in the huge old hearth and fuel provided. Would have liked to dine outside or use the tennis courts if we had the time. Would love to come back!

It was a bit far from Edinburgh centre but lovely to recover from the city in a gorgeous landscape and property.

Accommodations were very clean and host was very helpful with allergy request.

Tricky to find at night

Spacious and homely cottage, lots of space to walk around the property

It was in a lovely position. Ideal for walking the dogs and close enough to the centre of Edinburgh to visit my son and his family. It’s cosy and compact with everything you need including a lovely contained garden.

We had a bit of difficulty getting the shower to stay up. We could have done with a hose outside to wash the dogs but that’s being fussy!

Small and cosy accommodation but very well equipped and thought out. Very well located, both for Edinburgh city centre and the beautiful countryside of the Pentland Hills. Quiet and very private. Extremely clean and well presented. Ideal accommodation for a sole traveller or a couple.

Unfortunately the mattress on the bed was very firm and this did prevent me from sleeping as well as I would have liked.

The house was just like in the pictures, and the kitchen hat, everything we needed there was a bit small and just at the entrance door. The surroundings were really nice and we loved the tennis court, which was very new and in a beautiful scenery. We could buy groceries in a short drive, but it’s a very isolated area, which was nice, we loved the quietness.

The master bedroom’s mattress was really old and very uncomfortable. I didn’t sleep well at all and I think it needs replacement, it had a terrible shape…
