Gorton House and Cottages

Easy to let ourselves in, had all we needed to cook. Clean. Plenty os space and located within quick driving distance to train station.

The energy saving bulbs were a bit dark for me in the evening. But other than that all ok.

The place was great. Very peaceful and had everything we needed in it. Good location and close to many tourist attractions.

The entry road was very hard to see either way on the road. This needs to be cleared out further to allow better safety getting into and out of the property entrance.

The surroundings were great with kids as they had space to run play and explore

Found the bed uncomfortable but that’s only personal preference

I dont have a bad word to say about this place!! Just perfect for us, we stayed in Apple cottage and the garden was beautiful, amazing for the kids. There were great walks just out the door and loads of things to do close by, Edinburgh was only a 30min drive and there were lovely places to eat on the doorstep too. The cottage was clean and the perfect set up for a family with small children. The owner was lovely and brought round some garden toys and books for our kids to borrow. It was really quiet and peaceful, would love to stay again in the future!

The setting and overall location of the property was a real plus. We wanted something outside of Edinburgh, but easily commutable and Gorton fitted the bill. The full-size tennis court was a bonus!

The property was cold, which wasn’t a problem for us but worth noting.

The location was great for us. Nice and quiet, but near to highway to get us to where we wanted to go. The house was big, with lots of room for our family of 12. Lots of different activities outside which was great to entertain the kids, walking trails. The rooms and beds were comfortable, staff very friendly, the kitchen well stocked. Grounds were well maintained.

It was cold,and damp when we first arrived. It would have been nice to have a bit of heat on. It would have been nice to have some direction for the dishwasher and washing machine.

Peaceful location. Lovely garden.We were there for the royal highland show and it was an easy short journey by car.Although we didn’t take our dog it was ideal location for pets, plenty of walks.

The sofa wasn’t very comfortable. Also it would be handy to have a washing line outside. Some oven trays as nothing to cook food on. High step from the patio door and the shower.
