"Very good"

8.0

It was an amazing location just outside Edinburgh, but you wouldn't know it. Set amongst beautiful grounds, peaceful with amazing views over the penines. Lovely outdoors space. Very comfortable bed and living space. Homely feel. Easy check in and out. Plenty of parking. The owner has great communication and is very helpful when I left something behind.

Slightly surprised on arrival by all the woodlice in the wooden front door. Once we started using this, they disappeared. Needs a better frypan that is suitable for the hob type.

"Lovely, peaceful and pretty stay."

9.0

Lovely, peaceful property. Great with the seperate bedroom and living areas.... good amount of privacy. Great sized bedroom, big lounge and comfy couches. Good, modern kitchenette. Stunning area, with walks to absolutely gorgeous locations from right out the door! Very quiet and private location and a quiet, cosy and pretty building.

Shower (water pressure and size) was not brilliant, but was serviceable.

"Beautiful cottage with lovely scenery"

10.0

Beautiful cottage with a great host. Perfect size for us as a couple with our young twins (in our own travel cots) and a beagle. Everything was clean and safe with everything you need, and the decor was lovely. The garden is enclosed for young children and most normal dogs (not escapee beagles) and it's great to have patio doors from the living room to let dog out before bed. The setting is beautiful and we saw a Roe deer cross the path to the cottage when we arrived back for our second night. We left some little plants in pots from the twins and Peggy (beagle) and it might be a nice idea to turn the metal plant stand on the patio into a plant library where guests can donate and / or take a plant to remember their break. If anyone's looking for a day trip Silver Sands beach, Aberdour (approx. 40 mins drive) is beautiful and dog friendly and accessible with a pram. There are lots of things to do nearby and the guest book has great recommendations, but we were up to visit family so didn't get to try them.

A heated towel rail in the shower room would add extra luxury to the beautifully decorated room.

"Would maybe stay in summer for a short time, too small and cramped for longer stay."

6.0

The location was very isolated and driving to it at night was really difficult. Summer would be okay.

It was very small and the shower was not powerful enough so not good. It would have been nice if there may have been some milk in the fridge to have a cup of tea partcularly, as you could not walk to a local shop and the drive was so difficult. This was mainly due to winter weather which is to be expercted in Scotland.
