Factors House - A comfy cottage in countryside park with WIFI and access to bar and pool

Good-sized cottage. Good amenities. Lovely area.

Not enough dishes.

Lovely property close to reception, bar and swimming pool. Comfortable and warm, with downstairs bedroom ideal for disabled family member.

The swimming pool was closed, so we were unable to take advantage of it. We arrived for a one night stay, at around 4 o'clock. the pool was being used for swimming lessons and closed around 5pm. It did not reopen until 10am the next day. Literature provided before booking did not state this.

poorly equipped kitchen with only small saucepans and minimal crockery (For example, 5 plates and 5 mugs, for a 6-person property). The decor was similarly minimal and rather stark.

This was perfect for me and my grandchildren. We were Quad Biking nearby. The Factors Cottage just a few paces away from the pool, bar etc. Lovely, friendly staff. Parking right outside the cottage. Completely safe environment in the middle of the complex. The Cottage was spacious with big rooms for the children upstairs and a ground floor double room for me! Kitchen was well stocked with pans and utensils, and a big table. Big hallway for any wet outdoor gear. We used the pool. You have to book but it wasn't a problem. We were the only family in for most of the time, then joined by one other group. People said it could be busy at times. There's also a great walk down to the river path.

There was nothing I didnt like

delightful cottage attached to the main building. It has a small enclosed garden and enough privacy despite being in the centre of a busy caravan park. clean bedrooms lots of fresh towels.

It’s not the I didn’t like it. But there are a number of things that are not being addressed in that property such as cooking utensils completely unfit for purpose with inadequate pots and pans for a house that has three bedrooms and will clearly have families coming to stay. The frying pans had handles hanging and unusable. There is neglected mould in an otherwise very clean bathroom. The freezer completely over frozen and fridge running very warm and really unusable. It’s not a particularly expensive property and the house staff couldn’t have done more for us but housekeeping and maintenance do need to look at the contents of the house. I didn’t like the chairs in the kitchen being really badly stained and so rickety as to be unusable, two of them are in danger of collapsing. And there is literally nothing in the house. No salt or pepper, a tiny sample of washing up liquid. if you’re going take everything.

Good directions would have been helpful Google Maps with post code took is up St Mary’s Road & resulted in some awkward turning and quite some time to locate the property

My friends and I enjoyed every minute of the stay

The only concern we had was our last morning we ran out of toilet paper and the office did not open until 9. We suggest extra paper be left in the laundry room in the house
