The Old Forge, Trafalgar Court

Location of property is in good walking distance to the centre of York which is great. Kitchen appliances modern ant nicely working.

When we arrived the washing machine was filled with laundry from the former stay (and washing machine was apparently also broken down, so the washing program could not finish and the laundry was therefore not finished). We informed the host about this, but did not got an answer the same day. He only answered next day that he will send a technician on the day when we moved out. Carpet on ground floor is quite stained. Some appliances (e.g. lamp in ground floor, some window blinds) need either to be replaced or carefully refitted. Furniture quite old and partly worn out.

very close to the city, located in a quiet street. Beds were comfy and communication with the host excellent. House was spacious and well kept. 15min cab ride to the center of the city. Pub up the road with great food, 5 minute walk, chinese takeaway, 30 second walk, also great food

Parking is possible next to the house. Lane is very narrow so only attempt it if you have a smaller vehicle. We managed it in a Ford Kuga with some back and forth.

Lovely little house and garden. Loved how there was open doors in the lounge and loved the conservatory. Dog loved playing in the garden. Very comfy beds too.

Quiet location and close to the train station. Nice garden and well equipped kitchen.

Slow wifi, extremely squeaky bunk bed and perhaps the flat wasn't properly cleaned after the previous guests.

We loved the idea of having our own place to chill and even cook if we wanted to. Easy to collect the keys form the locker box. Got in and loved the layout, the conservatory, kitchen area, bathroom was nice, little toilet downstairs was cute (although a lock on it would be ideal!). Beds were comfy and there were games and DVDs as well as a good sized TV with Netflix and all.

The big turn off for us was the super strong smell of dog! It was mainly downstairs so we couldn't really enjoy the sofa, the armchair, and the blanket (which smelled really bad!). Moved things around and it still smelled so bad, the smell was in the stained carpet too. No coffee or tea provided which I expect to be the bare minimum for guests.

It is in a convenient location and had a lovely garden for the dog.

The fridge and oven trays had to be cleaned before we could use them, there was a lot of cobwebs and dust on many surfaces. There were lots of stains on the carpet and some mold in the shower which had lots of cracks. The poor cleaning was not up to par with how much I paid.
