Quirky Kendal Cottage

Conveniently located, with town centre only 5mins away. Free parking close by. Comfortable cottage, ideal for 2 to 4 people, although gets very cosy with 4!

The cottage was spotless. There were enough towels for our whole stay. We only needed the one bed but we noticed all of the bedding was fresh and beds made up. The fridge was clean and empty, so plenty of room for our food & drink. Good instructions for the address and how to enter the cottage. Perfect location. 1min walk from Kendal train station, that also has free parking for as long as you want. < 10mins walk to the town centre - shops, bars & restaurants.

The shower head looks to be very old, and there was very little pressure. Also, it’s tricky to get a nice temperature. Bedside table is much too low, and only on one side. Power outlets also on one side. Both people have to get on and off the bed the same way - my partner had to go over me in the night for the loo or to get a drink. The blind over the double bed has a little gap which allows for sunlight to hit one of the pillows (and eyes), first thing in the morning. All-in-all, an easy fix - A new shower head, window blind and a couple of bed-height bedside tables and I would have no complaints whatsoever. N.B These problems wouldn’t stop me booking again.

The cottage was delightful. It was easier to stay in rather than go out it was that nice. Location is perfect, next to all transport links, and restaurants and bars were just a short walk.

The hosts clearly care about the property and were very attentive. It was beautifully dressed for Christmas. Very clean and comfortable. Very accessible to Kendal itself and dog walks. Great to have the little garden at the back. Although no car parking there was plenty of choice around and Ben the host was super helpful in getting us sorted on that. Lovely open fire.

It was Quirky and we loved that but an extra chair in the sitting room is needed when there are 4 staying. The stairs up might be a little challenging for those less able but we did ok at 83 and 70!

Loved the historic cottage which was prettily decorated for Christmas and very cosy! It was a short walk to the centre of Kendal, shops and restaurants which was handy. The cottage is up a gated closed and back from the road, and the back garden was enclosed so perfect for my small dog to go out in.

Great location.

Property was ok just in need of updating in parts. Great having access to a garden which is unusual in Lakes.
