Quirky Kendal Cottage

From start to finish the hosts for the cottage (Ellie and Ben) were fab, they sent out a welcome pack with recommendations for pubs and places to eat and checked in to see if we had everything we needed. The cottage was very clean and smelt lovely when we walked in. Fully equip with everything you would need for your stay, as well as dog essentials like crate, bowls and even some spare dog food. It was our 5 month old cockapoos first little holiday and was the perfect place to take him. The little garden was super handy if you are planning on taking your fur family :-)

Not a major issue, but just something for the owners to maybe fix up - the bath has started to chip inside the base and is a little sharp underfoot when stood in the shower. Also go steady on the stairs. I slipped twice down the stairs, but that’s more of a ‘pay a little extra attention on the stairs’, rather than as bad point as they are in keeping with the quirky cottage :-) so just go steady!

The hosts were incredibly helpful and responsive which was wonderful. We had our two dogs with us, and the little garden was just perfect for them (it's a gated space so it felt safe for them to potter around). We had everything we needed in the cottage, and were very comfortable. Would very much recommend this cottage as a Kendal base

Location excellent with lots to do within easy walking distance ( our party was 88 year old mum & 3 sisters in their 60's)

Cleaning wasn't very thorough & there was no bathmat to stand on in the shower. Chipped enamel in the bath so showers only.

It lives upto its name - very characterful and comfortable

Central to town centre and a short walk to the river. Clean and well equipped cottage, our dog loved the garden which is secure.
