Dove House Cottages - No 1

It is a very nice house for a short stay - excellent shower.

No tea bags - which to me is poor as its the no1 thing that (British) guests need.

THE VIEW

Very comfortable, beautiful views and a very good location for the city centre. Nicely appointed and clean. Pretty little cottage grounds

Nothing to dislike.

Location was excellent.. You could catch an S1 bus straight to the centre of Oxford. The cottage was in a tranquil position with a lovely view overlooking a paddock. Comfortable, cosy living area and ample kitchen space.

There were a number of trip hazards around the cottage especially in the loft and bathroom. The slopping ceilings in the loft made it difficult to get in and out of bed and navigating going to the toilet in the dark was tricky. The bathroom comprised of a wet room and toilet. Both were great if you didn't need them both at the same time. If you had used the shower and then needed the toilet at a later time you had to walk through water to get to the toilet until it drained away. The low ceiling at the bottom of the stairs was another hazard and the carpet on the bottom step was loose.

we checked in late and even then, the cottage wasn´t ready upon our arrival. the cleaning staff had to rush and sprayed disinfectant to the point it was hard to breathe, without actually wiping any surfaces. the ONLY surface which was the kitchen had food residue and chopped onions. beds were uncomfortable, there was only one bathroom for three people, which meant the person sleeping downstairs did not have access to a toilet if the people upstairs were asleep. there was no access to the thermostat and the noise of the bells made it hard to sleep in the morning.
