Lavender Cottage, Grade 2 Listed Period Stone Built Cottage In Pickering, North Yorkshire

Very clean, comfortable and homely cottage with ideal garden for dogs.

Only criticism is the proximity to the very busy main road.

The location for that part of the world was very good. Shops 2 mins walk away, Pickering station 10 mins walk.

Nothing of note.

Bit cold for elderly inlaws but Angela came and turned heating up as you can't control it in cottage

Great location, well equipped for a comfortable stay in a home from home. Decking area was a bonus and a sun trap

O R Parking, but space on the road was always available so, not really a worry.

Fabulous location for visiting the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Scarborough and Whitby. Lovely cottage with comfy beds and 2 double rooms.

On street parking, but the hosts can’t control that and do provide a permit for a car park which is quite close and which you can use in the area, which is very generous. We did bang our heads around 4 times on the low ceiling to the kitchen even though there are signs clearly staying mind your head! We are around 5’10” so not overly tall. Our son who is 6’1” managed to avoid banging his head! We just forgot about it, but it was painful. Again nothing that can be done really. Unless hosts can add some spongy tape on the edges? Perils of staying in a traditional cottage though and to be expected. Wouldn’t stop me booking again as great having 2 double rooms.

Lavender Cottage is a lovely comfy cosy cottage and Pickering is a lovely place to visit
