Orchard Cottage

A lovely little cottage in a quiet countryside location but near major towns and transport routes. Own parking space outside, off road. The hosts were lovely and accommodating. The cottage has 2 bedrooms and a small open plan kitchen, dining and living area. It was the perfect base for us to explore the nearby area. There is SO much to do nearby that we didn't actually see half of the stuff we intended to and will have to return. Oh well! The beds were comfy, the sofa was comfy, we had everything we needed for a lovely short break. All essentials provided. 2 ensuite bathrooms was very handy. Would definitely return if in the area. Highly recommend Faversham and its town museum, and Dover Castle.

The stairs - we knew there were spiral stairs, but they are VERY tight and I didn't like them. If you have any mobility issues you'll probably want to use the downstairs room. My 6 year old was fine upstairs and loved the twin room. It had a black out blind on the rooflight too which was a huge bonus. Due to the open plan nature of the place sound travels a lot, and no upstairs bedroom door, so we had to be very quiet at night to not wake our son so couldn't watch TV etc - that didn't bother us as internet was excellent in the bedroom for phones, and would be fine for a group who go to bed at the same time. Very tall people need to watch their head on the stairs which are in the middle of the downstairs rooms, but it's well laid out for its size.

The cottage was perfect for a 5 night Canterbury getaway with onsite parking. Host was attentive.

Quiet rural setting. Above and beyond help from the owners. Nice property. Everything we needed for a short stay.

Spiral staircase to the twin bedroom upstairs might not be suitable for everyone. Kids loved it though.

This was our second time staying at orchard cottage for my wife's birthday, we enjoyed it there so much last year, we returned again this year,we love the homely feel about it and the cleanliness, The cottage is located in a great location to be able to go off and explore the surrounding areas and beaches along the coast, Sarah and James are fabulous hosts, Thankyou for making us feel so welcome

A little oasis in the middle of busy Kent (we live in rural Devon)

A few more kitchen items would be helpful (bread knife, oven dishes, cork screw (James next door gave us his!)

Close to the National Trust properties that I was going to visit. Quite location. Attic extension was spacious. Good communication with Sarah.

Kitchen/dining area a bit cramped due to needing the staircase to be in that area.

It was enormous! Two floors and both with bathroom facilities! Superb location! Everything that you could need in the kitchen. Parking. Just amazing!!!!!

There is nothing to not like! Everything is superb!!!!!
