Guesthouse Yoshikawa

The Yoshikawas were fantastic and friendly!! I can only speak a little Japanese, but they used easy words so we could have a conversation going. You get the whole second floor all to yourself. The bath and laundry area is downstairs which you are free to use. Though the toilet on the second floor is quite cramped. Really wish I spent more than one night. It’s a lovely and simple Japanese-style place. Great value for money. Great location. And the breakfast was amazing!

cool experience to enjoy the local tatami style guesthouse with your own private space. Choose this guesthouse if you don’t wanna share your room with others to enjoy the vibe at the same time. there are 2 rooms and 1 living room. host is very kind and polite. downstair is the host’s restaurant. avoid bringing heavy luggage as the staircase is narrow. you still can bring it up but will be tiring.

my mum has knee joint pain. so whoever bringing elderly, please double check if they are able to walk up and down the stairs since the guesthouse is in second floor.

It was a bit weird that the ground floor was in fact an izakaya. I got really confused of it. It was quite far from the station and the main attractions. Some reviewers wrote it's close - they're lying 😃 If you walk, it's not.

It is a traditional Japanese Ryokan, the underneath is a restaurant and you basically get the whole floor for yourself!

The location is a bit in the middle of nowhere, 8minute walk to the closest metro, 15minutes with the metro to Nara park and a 15min walk to the main JR station. In the heat it adds up to a lot :))

The breakfast for 500 yen was HUGE couldn't finish it, and one of the best meals I had in japan. The owner was so kind she even offered me a ride to the train station because it was very hot to walk.

The space was huge. But the toilet is small, if you have mobility problems or you are very tall it might be uncomfortable.
