Pátio da Muralha

We had a lovely 2 night stay in Patio da Muralha, the house was very comfortable, clean and perfect for our needs. Rafael was the perfect host. I feel he went out of his way to make us comfortable.

Rafael was just the best host. He even took us to the train station for our departure. Also, we didn't realize that we were staying in a three bedroom home with a full kitchen and 2 bathrooms. The location was inside the walked city and with 5 minutes of the main area by foot

I can't think of any suggestions to make.

Great location within the city walls. Rafael very friendly, gave us lots of tips for restaurants etc. We also really appreciated the basic food provided.

The roosters crowing from next door!

We appreciated that the owner picked us up from the train stop in Obidos. He treated us like family and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and could contact him if we needed anything. He recommended amazing restaurants and how to navigate our way throughout this wonderful UNESCO Heritage Site. We plan to return and stay at Patio da Muralha. The owner also drove us back to the train station the day we checked out. Thank you Raphael!!!

Are you kidding? This vacation home is 100+% amazing.

Rafael is extremely friendly and thought of everything! The place is ideally located. He met us and made sure we have a safe place for our car. It is very large (could sleep 5 easily), he had some basic fruits, vegetables, meat and cheese waiting for us. There is no washing machine, and upstairs room is a little musty from being an old house and right under the old roof. Rest of the house is wonderful.

Rafael the host couldn't have been more helpful before the trip and when we arrived.He met us and took us in his car to the property which was so helpful as we were with my elderly mother in law. The property is very close to the centre of the village within easy walking distance of the shops bars and restaurants.It has a large outdoor area which we would have used if the weather had been better.It is very clean and comfortable but maintains its traditional charm! Rafael had thought of everything to keep us comfortable heaters and extra blankets if we needed them and the weather was chilly! He had stocked the fridge with milk tomatoes cheese,eggs,ham fruit etc and even gave us a gift of the cherry liquer! Before he left us he gave us local l information about the village and restaurant recommendations ! He checked we were all OK during our stay and again offered to give us a lift back to our car on departure.Thank you Rafael we will be back!!

The weather!!it rained such a shame as it was the chocolate festival .Nothing we didn't like about the property.

First, the host Rafael was the best! He was the nicest person we met on our two week trip. The house was his grandfather’s, and it is a traditional Portuguese house (not like a hotel) which makes the stay more authentic. The backyard was amazing! So much space so relax in. We bought a bottle of port wine and some pastries and enjoyed them outside next to the little fountain. Perfect! We can’t wait to stay here again in the future!!!

My only comment is that it is a bit cold at night. There are heaters which help a lot, just be sure to turn them on a few hours before bed and you should be good to go.

Our host Rafael was exceptional!! He went above and beyond in every way possible. His historic family home was perfect for our stay. Would highly recommend .
