"Very nice house. Well designed. We had a great time"

9.0

Great sized bedroom

Roof gutters need to be cleaned. Planted growing in them. When it rains which it does in Ireland the water pours out of the top instead of going down the drainpipe.

"Overall good property with room for 8 people but could be exceptional with a few additions!"

7.0

The house was clean on arrival and overall well appointed. The location on Sneem Road was well placed for exploring the stunning Ring of Kerry and Kenmare is a picture perfect village with lots of very good pubs and restaurants with excellent hospitality. Houses are well positioned in Dunkerron Woods so there is good privacy and a sense of calm at each property. We couldn't hear any noise or neighbours during our week there but not sure if the other houses were even occupied. Plenty of space for 8 adult occupants, (although the kitchen was small and could only accommodate 2 people cooking/helping at any one time). Washing machine and dryer available. Host Milena was attentive and replied to texts that day - for example, on arrival there were difficulties flushing toilet in main bathroom and plumber was contacted quickly to fix the problem. Comfortable living room with lots of windows for natural light, and an open fire which was welcome in the event of wet or cold weather. One small bedroom downstairs with ensuite bathroom and three other more spacious bedrooms upstairs, one with ensuite bathroom and one larger bathroom. All bedrooms had good wardrobe space and dressers with lots of drawers, plus good sized bedside tables with lamps. The area was quiet and peaceful and seemed very safe. It is lovely to find a good property where pets are welcome and our small family dog loved the house.

Firstly the house was impossible to find in the estate as the house number on the pavement at the entrance was completely covered by grass so we had to phone the host who directed us. A small point perhaps, but an important one when you've been travelling for hours! The garden and outside area were quite scruffy, with weeds visible and chipped paintwork. This could be easily remedied and would make such a difference for that first positive impression, especially given the rental price! There was a dilapidated picnic table, but no other outside seating available . The addition of some nice garden dining furniture, umbrella, soft seating for adult use would be much appreciated. Kitchen was very small, as previously mentioned with a shortage of crockery, not enough for 8 adult occupants, which meant constant handwashing as waiting for dishwasher was impossible. Bathroom downstairs was spacious but no dressers/ shelves or hooks available for toiletries or to hang towels or clothes. Finally, the property description states that the property is 2 km from Kenmare but the road is dangerous with no grass verge and fast traffic. Therefore it was not possible to walk into Kenmare which was such a pity, as it is a beautiful area and a walk would have been very pleasant. A car is definitely needed if staying in Dunkerron Woods.

"Very spacious & quiet"

Bedrooms & bathrooms for everyone. Plenty of space. Very quiet location.

No salt or pepper. Also can of fly spray would have been useful as flies will come into house when double doors are open

Beautiful house, nice setting. not far from town. Very basic and sparce on utensils in the kitchen ie no decent knives and no scissors . Not many glasses or small plates and just one bath towel on each bed, no hand towels. I did ask for some but she explained that there was a hand towel in each bathroom but personally I didn't want to dry my hair on towels used in bathrooms. Nothing major though. We had a lovely time.
