Ruwan Jungle Homestay

Ruwan was a very friendly and generous host. We very much enjoyed our short 2 night stay at the homestay. He made several arrangements for us including a great whale watching trip (boat provided breakfast), taking us to the port in his tuktuk at 6am for the trip and sorting out our taxi to Galle. It's a great location, very tucked away and quiet but easy to get to the beautiful beach or bars/cafes/restaurants of Mirissa. His family also were extremely friendly and he gave us an excellent breakfast.

Ruwan is a very friendly host and the accomodation is located beautifully in "the jungle". He serves a great breakfast too!

There are a few places nearby where the bass music was pretty loud also in the morning/night so that didnt help with sleeping, but obviously, that is not the fault of the accomodation

Ruwan is a wonderful host and a great guy. Always prepared to help and give you advice, you can really ask him anything. He can even cook you a nice dinner and makes breakfast according to your wishes.

We got the lower apartment and it was a bit stuffy, air condition helps a bit.

Lovely place, just like we wanted - in the jungle, yet very close to the beaches and High St. And Ruwan - exceptional host! Always ready to help and to go extra mile to fulfil your needs! Highly recommend to experience good karma of the place and Ruwan’s family.

We booked 2 rooms and stayed 3 nights. The rooms were super clean and Ruwan was very helpful with everything. He arranged everything we asked for and also offered us some short Tuk Tuk rides when needed.

The valve for the hot water was quite high in both rooms, making it a bit of a struggle each time to reach and turn it on. However, this can be easily resolved by using a short stool to step on.

Ruwan did work very hard to get his 10-point rating, he will go to any length to solve your problems and make them his. He even allowed us to add milk in Sri Lankan coffee :). He also really wanted to show us 40 baby elephants drinking milk and was a bit sad that we did not go with him.

Ruwan jungle home was absolutely incredible. The location is amazing - off the main road so nice and quiet but just a short walk to the restaurants and the beach. The beds are comfortable and rooms cool and the monkeys visit in the morning. We ate all across Mirrissa, but the best food we had was at Ruwans. We had amazing breakfast every day, and Ruwans wife made us the most delicious dinners twice. The best food. But most of all - Ruwan is an amazing host. He made sure we were so well looked after, and took us on day trips - made sure we had all the best experiences. We left Ruwans desperate to go back and feeling as though we had made a great friend. Thank you Ruwan and family for such a brilliant stay.

Ruwan is such an amazing host! He will help organise any trips for you for a locals price, he will give you all the tips for the area and cook you an amazing breakfast for you each morning. He is a man of many talents 🌟 The room is very clean and spacious, it also has a beautiful balcony with a hammock where you can listen to nature. On top of that you get a fridge filled with water which is very handy in this hot climate! I recommend for your stay in Mirissa 🌞
