The Boathouse

Location was amazing, breathtaking views, beach right next to you, perfect for our dog and a bit of sea glass hunting.

I struggled not having a stand up shower. I have a back issue, had to kneel in bath to wash my hair. There are no pictures on line showing a bath only with just an extractor showerhead. There was not much hot water, only enough to fill about a sixth of the bath. Radiators did not give out enough heat, we used the fan heaters to heat lounge and bedroom. Kitchen was very cold, especially the floor. The kitchen floor is very uneven, you have to be careful and be mindful of your steps. No manual for the washing machine/tumble dryer, I had to guess my way through the cycles.

Lovely quirky building in an excellent location in the centre of Whitby. It was great to hear the fishing boats coming and going and the sea birds first thing in the morning. It was also great to watch the beachcomber's early in the morning while having a coffee on the decking. The layout of the accommodation is excellent and the furnishings are very comfortable.

The boat house is a very unique place to stay, it was actually more spacious inside than it looked from the outside. It was a nice touch that tea, coffee, sugar and milk where provided. The location is superb for getting around whitby. We did not use the parking permit we just parked in the carpark nearest to the boat house which was £10.80 for 24hrs and the car was safe but we did drop our bags off right at the door in the car. We really could not fault anything about the boat house it was a lovely place to stay and we will definitely be back.

The location is fab, everything is within walking distance.

No WiFi and upstairs was very cold, also the patio doors and windows leaked when it rained and we had to secure one of the shutters as it was banging against the door
