Cosy 1-bedroom cottage next to Combe Lodge Venue

Perfect location!

Some of the curtains were hanging off the rails so hard to open and keep closed. It would have been useful to know beforehand what the walk to the main Combe Lodge house was like - up a steep hill, unmade path and lots of steps!

Location primarily but would be a quirky little place for a longer stay.

Some of the messaging was a bit stern. Almost scared to visit but it was actually fine. A friendlier tone would be nice.

It was well equipped in the kitchen nice lounge and quiet location ideal for the wedding we were attending at Combe Lodge, plenty of hot water and good heating system.

Could do with a deep clean (cobwebs) and a lick of paint especially in the bathroom. Also could do with a slip mat and hand rail for the bath. An oven glove for the kitchen would be helpful!

It was evidently dirty. There were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, the shower head was dirty, the bath had hairs in, the bed sheets had dirt/marks on them, etc. The hosts are also like nobody else that I’ve ever booked with on booking.com; I was forced to share my credit card details with them directly, I was sent extra T&Cs to adhere to and ultimately this felt more like a prison sentence than a night away. Oh, and the mattress was overdue a replacement. In fairness, I reported the issues with the cleanliness to the host, who apologised and offered a partial 15% discount.

Beautiful little cottage we everything we needed. We attended a wedding at coombe lodge and perfect location. Opposite the door is stairs that lead you straight there so 2 min walk

Sadly, the cottage was freezing when we arrived (11 degrees) and it turns out the the bolier was switched off. Luckily I was able to switch it back on and the property soon got to a warm 19 degrees. There's a shower over the bath and it does not work. Left a voicemail to inform the management company of the non working shower and didnt hear back... Also had a few issues with the 'automated' system wanting to take a deposit of £500 - way more money than the rental itself actually was. The management agent (Sian) confirmed it should have been £150 as per booking paperwork. Finally got the correct email to pay £150 (thanks to Sian), but still got further emails referencing the £500! One worry that's not needed when booking a weekend away. Would thre system send us the code for the access panel to get the keys when we arrived?! (IT did, but it was a worry so close to Christmas!)
